Key features

  • A two-way coaxial driver, a 5.7" (145 mm) woofer and a 1.1" (28 mm) tweeter

  • Frequency range of 100 Hz to 20 kHz at −6 dB

  • Maximum sound pressure level of 99 dB at 20 W and 1 m, continuous

  • Coverage angle of 120°, nominal impedance of 8 Ω

  • PoE+ power to IEEE 802.3at class 4, 24 W rated, one RJ-45 port

  • Plenum Rated UL 2043, a low profile with a depth of 120 mm

Description

Sound from above, with no amplifier and no speaker cabling

The CS10 is an active ceiling speaker powered from PoE+. The room therefore gains no amplifier and no speaker wiring, one Ethernet cable per unit is enough. The installation comes down to as many ceiling penetrations as there are speakers, and it does without a rack holding an amplifier.

A coaxial driver and even coverage

The driver is two-way coaxial, that is a 5.7" woofer and a 1.1" tweeter on one axis. The frequency range is 100 Hz to 20 kHz at −6 dB, the sensitivity 88 dB at 1 m and 1 W, and the maximum sound pressure level 99 dB at 20 W and 1 m. The coverage angle is 120° nominal, and that is the figure the spacing of the speakers in the ceiling is calculated from.

Certified for the ceiling void

The speaker is Plenum Rated UL 2043, so it suits spaces that carry air handling. The depth is 120 mm, the diameter with the grille is 294 mm and the weight is 2,808 g. The box holds a white mesh cover, an assembly fixing bracket, a bracing bridge, a dust cover with screws, a deployment instruction template and a quick start guide.

Strengths and limits

Strengths

  • An active speaker over PoE+, with no separate amplifier and no speaker cabling

  • Plenum Rated UL 2043 for spaces that carry air handling

  • A coaxial driver and a 120° coverage angle make the ceiling layout easier

  • A low profile, 120 mm deep, with the fixing bracket and bracing bridge in the box

Limits and what to tell the customer

  • Dante is supported by the CS10-D variant, code 1306036. For an installation built on Dante, order the CS10-D.

  • Zoom Certified applies to the CS10-D, not to this variant.

  • It needs PoE+ to 802.3at class 4 and draws 24 W rated. The switch budget is the limit, 90 W on the RCH40 E2 and 80 W on the AVHub.

  • The topology is a star. Daisy-chaining is not supported and EEE is to be switched off on the switch. At most 2 speakers and 2 microphones connect directly, and at most 4 and 4 per host when extended through a switch.

  • A white mesh cover is in the box. The CS-BlackCover magnetic black grille and the CS-PendantMount pendant enclosure are separate accessories.

⚑ atlantis note

Which code to order

The protocol of the installation decides. 1303094 CS10 is the "General edition" and belongs to the base SkySound range with the CM20 microphone over AES67. 1306036 CS10-D is the "Dante edition", belongs to the Pro Audio range with the CM50 and the AP08 processor, and has Zoom Certified. Swapping them afterwards means placing another order, as the protocol cannot be added to a finished installation.

The speaker drives the PoE budget

The CS10 draws 24 W rated and needs PoE+ 802.3at class 4, while the CM20 ceiling microphone gets by on PoE 802.3af class 3 and 5.7 W. The design therefore counts the switch budget, not the number of ports. It is 90 W on the RCH40 E2 and 80 W on the AVHub.

Laying out the ceiling

The coverage angle is 120° nominal and the installed depth is 120 mm. The quote should include a check of the free space above the ceiling and the fixing method, including the bracing bridge from the box for plasterboard. Where the ceiling must not be cut into, the CS-PendantMount enclosure is intended for suspension.

A ready-made kit for a medium room

The ready-made CMKit-121 kit contains a CM20, two CS10 speakers and an RCH40 E2 switch. One kit covers a 5 × 8 m room and two kits 6 × 10 m. It is a practical starting point for a quote on a medium meeting room.

Good fit

A medium or large meeting room with the CM20 ceiling microphone, an MVC system with an AVHub or an RCH40 E2 switch, a ceiling with room for a 120 mm installed depth and a network with PoE+.

Verify

Whether the installation will run over Dante, in which case the CS10-D belongs in the quote. The PoE+ budget on the switch and the number of ports. The free space above the ceiling and the fixing method. The number of units against the shape of the room and the coverage angle. Whether the customer wants the black grille. Whether the speakers will be suspended, which needs the CS-PendantMount.

Consider another model

The CS10-D where the installation runs over Dante, where it is a divisible hall or where the design is built around the AP08 processor. A video bar with its own speakers where the ceiling is not to be touched.

The "Verify" and "Consider another model" cards come from the experience of the atlantis team.

What to check before ordering and deploying

  1. Protocol: whether the installation will run over Dante, in which case the CS10-D 1306036 belongs in the quote

  2. Power: PoE+ 802.3at class 4 and 24 W rated per unit, that is the switch budget rather than the number of ports

  3. Ceiling: free space above the ceiling for a 120 mm installed depth, and the fixing method

  4. Number of units: the layout against the shape of the room and the 120° coverage angle

  5. Topology: a star with no daisy-chain, EEE off, the limit of 2 plus 2 directly and 4 plus 4 through a switch

  6. Finish: the white grille is in the box; the black CS-BlackCover and the CS-PendantMount for suspension are separate

  7. System: what the CS10 connects into, that is an AVHub or an RCH40 E2 and the MVC host, and which microphone goes with it

  8. Support: PrimeCare against the system or the AMS extended warranty against the device, order it with the goods

The atlantis team will help with every point. With ceiling audio we also help to lay the speakers out against the shape of the room, to work out the PoE+ budget on the switch and to choose between the CS10 and the CS10-D according to the protocol of the whole installation.

Management and services

  • Management follows the platform: in native mode the device is managed from the administration of the platform the room runs.

  • Yealink Management Cloud Service (YMCS): cloud management of Yealink devices, that is bulk firmware updates, status monitoring and alerts. Support and the scope of management differ by model and licence, so check both with us for the specific device and system.

atlantis services for partners

atlantis is a direct importer and distributor, and we deliver projects through a network of specialist partners. The services below are therefore offered to the partner, not to the end customer. The partner sets the scope. On one project we take on the whole delivery, on another we cover just the part the partner currently lacks capacity or specialisation for, and on a third the partner manages alone and uses us only for a consultation.

  • Before the decision: a consultation on choosing the system and a comparison of the suitable options. The recommendation is built on the size and the character of the room, that is light, acoustics, shape, seating layout and furnishing, then on headcount and on how meetings are actually run there. We offer a live demonstration at our premises, which the partner can bring their customer to, and where it is warranted a test installation, that is a proof of concept.

  • Delivery and installation: transport, professional mounting and the work that goes with it, that is cabling, installation material, brackets and room alterations. We handle the installation in full, or support the partner's own team where needed.

  • Network readiness and security: we advise on preparing the network for the demands of two-way real-time video, that is throughput, latency and traffic prioritisation, and on securing the communication.

  • Configuration and integration: setting up the communication platform and the room account, connecting to the network, and advice on linking and integrating third-party software and hardware.

  • Training and documentation: training prepared to match the user's role, that is one thing for room users and another for administrators, plus preparation of both project and user documentation.

  • Service and support after the sale: our certified team in Czech, available to the partner throughout the equipment's life. We handle a warranty claim with the manufacturer on the partner's behalf.

Warranty

The standard warranty on Yealink products is 24 months. On top of it we offer two different things that are easy to confuse.

Extended warranty

AMS

Extends the warranty period, that is how long the customer is entitled to repair or replacement of a faulty unit. The abbreviation stands for Assurance Maintenance Services.

1 to 3 years

Service programme

PrimeCare

Changes how the service is delivered. It covers priority support with escalation during business hours, advance hardware replacement with the unit dispatched the next business day from local European service stock, warranty service aligned with the licence period, the YMCS-Room-Professional package, software updates and access to the Yealink online support centre.

2 to 5 years

Take note

Which one to pick

A customer buys one of them, not both. AMS is enough where a longer warranty is all that is needed, PrimeCare is the choice where room downtime is expensive and the customer needs fast replacement and management. For video products the cap on total warranty is five years, and AMS is bought consecutively, so it must not leave a gap at the end of the existing warranty.

PrimeCare is not tied to a single device; for a system it is ordered by the room size class, and for the MVC/ZVC classes from Small to Extra Large the codes are 510102000875 to 510102000890 for two to five years.

FAQ

What is the difference between the CS10 and the CS10-D?

The Yealink CS10 is the "General edition" and the CS10-D variant the "Dante edition" with support for the Dante transport protocol. The CS10-D, code 1306036, also has Zoom Certified. The speaker is otherwise the same. For the CS10-D we confirm the package contents at order time.

Does the CS10 need an amplifier?

The Yealink CS10 is an active speaker powered from PoE+ to IEEE 802.3at class 4, so the installation needs no separate amplifier and no speaker wiring. One Ethernet cable runs to the RJ-45 port of each unit, the rated consumption is 24 W and the typical one 20 W.

Can the CS10 go into an air-handling space?

The Yealink CS10 is Plenum Rated UL 2043, so it is also intended for spaces that carry air handling. The installed depth is 120 mm, the diameter with the grille is 294 mm and the weight is 2,808 g, all of which the check of the space above the ceiling has to allow for.

How many speakers fit into one room?

The Yealink CS10 is wired in a star; daisy-chaining is not supported. At most two speakers and two microphones connect directly, and at most four and four per host when extended through a switch. The second limit is the power budget: 90 W on the RCH40 E2 switch and 80 W on the AVHub, while one CS10 takes 24 W rated. EEE is to be switched off on the switch.

Is the black grille in the box?

The Yealink CS10 comes with a white mesh cover, an assembly fixing bracket, a bracing bridge, a dust cover with six screws, a deployment instruction template and a quick start guide. The CS-BlackCover magnetic black grille is a separate accessory and is ordered on its own.

Can the CS10 be suspended from the ceiling?

The Yealink CS10 has a separate accessory for suspension, the CS-PendantMount pendant mount enclosure. The speaker package holds the assembly fixing bracket and the bracing bridge for in-ceiling mounting; the pendant enclosure is not included.
