Description
A panel rather than a disc
The CM50 is not a ceiling disc but a whole panel measuring 592 × 592 × 56 mm and weighing 5.15 kg. It mounts as a direct replacement for a 60 × 60 cm ceiling tile, and also on suspension wires or with a glued mounting system. It comes in an Apple White finish and carries Plenum Rated UL 2043, so it also suits air handling spaces. The ceiling grid has to carry the weight of the panel, which is the first thing to survey for this model.
Eight zones and five metres
The panel holds 127 MEMS elements and works across eight user definable pickup zones. The pickup range is a radius of 5 m at STIPA above 0.76. The audio is processed by beamforming, an acoustic fence, sound source localisation for camera control and AI noise and reverberation suppression. The frequency range is 120 Hz to 20 kHz, maximum sound pressure level 122 dB at THD below 1 % and the signal to noise ratio 86 dB at 1 kHz.
The processor holds the whole room
The whole branch converges into the AP08 processor, that is the CM50 microphone panels, the CS10-D ceiling speakers and the YPS20 sensor. The AP08 has 16 × 16 Dante channels, 4 × 4 analogue channels, 8 optimised AEC channels with dynamic echo cancellation, phantom power for microphones and a dual processor architecture. It connects to hosts through two USB 3.0 Type-B interfaces that work at the same time, so one processor serves two rooms. Its output provides 90 W of PoE to power up to three external audio devices.
Strengths and limits
Strengths
127 MEMS elements and eight user definable zones in a single ceiling panel
A pickup radius of 5 m at STIPA above 0.76, therefore more area per unit
Dante with 48 kHz and 24 bit sampling, 8 + 2 output and 2 input channels
One AP08 serves two rooms, both USB 3.0 Type-B interfaces work at the same time
Room A, Room B and Combined Room A+B presets switched by the YPS20 sensor
The CM50 panel carries Plenum Rated UL 2043 and integrates with Microsoft Teams and Zoom Room
Limits and what to tell the customer
The CM50 weighs 5.15 kg and measures 592 × 592 mm. It replaces a tile in the ceiling, so the grid and the fixing belong in the room survey before any count of units is quoted.
The CM50 comes in an Apple White finish. No other panel colour is offered.
The CM50 is powered from PoE+ to IEEE 802.3at class 4, at 19.3 W rated. Ordinary PoE to 802.3af is not enough for this model.
The AP08 power output is 90 W of PoE for up to three external audio devices. A larger system needs power from outside the processor, and that is a fixed limit of the design.
The SkySound range is wired in a star, daisy-chaining is not supported and EEE is to be switched off on the switch.
The CM50 and the CS10-D run over Dante, while the base SkySound range with the CM20 runs over AES67. The protocol has to be settled at the start of the design.
⚑ atlantis note
CM50 or CM20
The protocol and the mounting method decide. 1303096 CM50 is a 592 × 592 mm panel, it runs over Dante and belongs with the AP08 processor. The CM20 from the base range is a 223 mm disc, it runs over AES67 and it is plug and play into an MVC system. Confusing the two by name is the most common mistake in an enquiry, because each model needs a different ceiling preparation.
The power budget belongs in the design
The CM50 draws 17 W typically and 19.3 W rated and needs PoE+ to 802.3at class 4. The 1303097 AP08 processor provides 90 W of PoE on its output for up to three external audio devices. The number of units is therefore set by the power budget and by what is left of it for the CS10-D speakers, not by the floor area of the room.
A divisible hall is the main reason
The AP08 holds Room A, Room B and Combined Room A+B presets and switches between them according to the 1303180 YPS20 partition sensor. Both USB 3.0 Type-B interfaces work at the same time, so one processor serves two rooms and each keeps its own host. This is the situation where the Pro Audio branch earns its place against the cheaper base range.
Room acoustics make the pickup
The 5 m radius applies at STIPA above 0.76. In a higher ceiling, in a glazed room and with no acoustic treatment, expect a different result. For halls we therefore recommend a room survey before any count of units is quoted, and in divisible spaces we also think through where the partition sits and where the boundary of the zones will run.
Which room it suits

Network audio protocol | Dante |
Place in the portfolio | the professional branch of Yealink SkySound ceiling audio, that is SkySound Pro Audio |
Good fit
A large meeting room or a divisible hall, an installation built on Dante, a design led through the AP08 processor, a ceiling with a 60 × 60 cm grid able to carry a 5.15 kg panel, and a network with PoE+.
Verify
The load capacity of the grid and the fixing method for the panel. Room acoustics, that is reverberation, glazing and background noise. How many devices the AP08 is to power and what is left of the 90 W for the speakers. How many rooms one processor is to serve. Where the partition sits and where the boundary of the zones will run. Who will make the penetration and where the cabling will run.
Consider another model
The base SkySound range with the CM20 and the CS10 where the installation will run over AES67, where it is a single undivided room and plug and play into an MVC system is enough. A video bar with its own microphone array where the ceiling is not to be touched.
The "Verify" and "Consider another model" cards come from the experience of the atlantis team.

The atlantis team will help with every point. With ceiling audio we also help to think through the acoustics and the load capacity of the ceiling, the power budget on the processor and the layout of the zones, so that the number of units matches the shape of the room and not merely its floor area.
Management and services
Management follows the platform: in native mode the device is managed from the administration of the platform the room runs.
Yealink Management Cloud Service (YMCS): cloud management of Yealink devices, that is bulk firmware updates, status monitoring and alerts. Support and the scope of management differ by model and licence, so check both with us for the specific device and system.
atlantis services for partners
atlantis is a direct importer and distributor, and we deliver projects through a network of specialist partners. The services below are therefore offered to the partner, not to the end customer. The partner sets the scope. On one project we take on the whole delivery, on another we cover just the part the partner currently lacks capacity or specialisation for, and on a third the partner manages alone and uses us only for a consultation.
Before the decision: a consultation on choosing the system and a comparison of the suitable options. The recommendation is built on the size and the character of the room, that is light, acoustics, shape, seating layout and furnishing, then on headcount and on how meetings are actually run there. We offer a live demonstration at our premises, which the partner can bring their customer to, and where it is warranted a test installation, that is a proof of concept.
Delivery and installation: transport, professional mounting and the work that goes with it, that is cabling, installation material, brackets and room alterations. We handle the installation in full, or support the partner's own team where needed.
Network readiness and security: we advise on preparing the network for the demands of two-way real-time video, that is throughput, latency and traffic prioritisation, and on securing the communication.
Configuration and integration: setting up the communication platform and the room account, connecting to the network, and advice on linking and integrating third-party software and hardware.
Training and documentation: training prepared to match the user's role, that is one thing for room users and another for administrators, plus preparation of both project and user documentation.
Service and support after the sale: our certified team in Czech, available to the partner throughout the equipment's life. We handle a warranty claim with the manufacturer on the partner's behalf.
Warranty
The standard warranty on Yealink products is 24 months. On top of it we offer two different things that are easy to confuse.
Extended warranty
AMS
Extends the warranty period, that is how long the customer is entitled to repair or replacement of a faulty unit. The abbreviation stands for Assurance Maintenance Services.
1 to 3 years
Service programme
PrimeCare
Changes how the service is delivered. It covers priority support with escalation during business hours, advance hardware replacement with the unit dispatched the next business day from local European service stock, warranty service aligned with the licence period, the YMCS-Room-Professional package, software updates and access to the Yealink online support centre.
2 to 5 years
Take note
Which one to pick
A customer buys one of them, not both. AMS is enough where a longer warranty is all that is needed, PrimeCare is the choice where room downtime is expensive and the customer needs fast replacement and management. For video products the cap on total warranty is five years, and AMS is bought consecutively, so it must not leave a gap at the end of the existing warranty.

FAQ
Which protocol does the CM50 use?
The Yealink CM50 runs over Dante, with 8 + 2 output and 2 input channels and 48 kHz sampling at 24 bit. The CS10-D ceiling speaker runs over Dante as well. The base SkySound range with the CM20 and the CS10 runs over AES67.
How does the CM50 mount into the ceiling?
The Yealink CM50 is a panel measuring 592 × 592 × 56 mm and weighing 5.15 kg. It mounts as a direct replacement for a 60 × 60 cm ceiling tile, and also on suspension wires or with a glued mounting system. The ceiling grid has to carry the weight of the panel, so the fixing belongs in the room survey.
What is the AP08 processor for?
The Yealink AP08 is the DSP processor of the whole Pro Audio branch. It has 16 × 16 Dante channels, 4 × 4 analogue channels, 8 optimised AEC channels with dynamic echo cancellation, phantom power and a dual processor architecture. It connects to hosts through two USB 3.0 Type-B interfaces and its output provides 90 W of PoE for up to three external audio devices.
How does SkySound Pro Audio handle a divisible hall?
Yealink SkySound Pro Audio handles it with the pair of the AP08 and the YPS20. The processor holds Room A, Room B and Combined Room A+B presets and switches between them according to the infrared YPS20 partition sensor, which has a ten metre cable. Both USB 3.0 Type-B interfaces work at the same time, so each half of the hall keeps its own host.
What power does the CM50 need?
The Yealink CM50 is powered from PoE+ to IEEE 802.3at class 4 and draws 17 W typically, 19.3 W rated. The AP08 processor can power it too, as its output provides 90 W of PoE for up to three external audio devices, so the budget has to be split between the microphones and the speakers.
How does the CM50 differ from the CM20?
The Yealink CM50 is a 592 × 592 mm ceiling panel weighing 5.15 kg, it holds 127 MEMS elements, runs over Dante and belongs with the AP08 processor. The CM20 from the base range is a 223 mm disc with sixteen microphones, it runs over AES67 and draws PoE to 802.3af. Each of them needs a different ceiling preparation and a different network.
