Description

Video and USB over the network rather than over cables

The AV ONE range replaces fixed HDMI and USB runs with an ordinary gigabit IP network. It carries up to 4K at 60 Hz with 4:4:4 chroma sampling and 8 bit colour depth, latency is 16 ms and the data rate stays below 1 Gbps per stream. Content is protected to HDCP 2.3. The layout of the room therefore stops following the length of a cable and starts following the structure of the network.

Encoder and decoder

The EN300 is the encoder. It takes two HDMI sources and a laptop over USB-C with 60 W Power Delivery, switches between sources automatically and sends the picture into the network. The DE300 is the decoder. It assembles the picture from the network onto a display, has a seamless 2 × 2 video matrix, an integrated capture card for recording and streaming, and controls the display over RS-232, CEC and IR. Both units share the same body of 216 × 160 × 36 mm and 1.24 kg.

Room control, the CT200 and the CT300

Signals are routed and devices managed by the CT200 and CT300 controllers. Both have an open API for integrating third party devices and customisable control logic, and the CT200 adds an automatically generated H5 user interface and unified local and cloud management. The hardware interfaces for device control, that is RS232, RS422/485, relays, GPIO and IR, are carried by the CT300 of the pair, and through them it drives projectors, screens, blind motors, LED lighting, buzzers and sensors.

Strengths and limits

Strengths

  • 4K at 60 Hz, 4:4:4 chroma sampling and 16 ms latency

  • A data rate below 1 Gbps per stream, so a gigabit network is enough

  • HDCP 2.3 on the encoder and on the decoder

  • The EN300 has two HDMI inputs with automatic switching and USB-C with 60 W Power Delivery

  • The DE300 has a seamless 2 × 2 video matrix and a capture card for recording and streaming

  • The CT300 carries 6× RS232, 2× RS422/485, 4 relays, 4× GPIO, 2× IR and an IR Learning port

Limits and what to tell the customer

  • The transport runs over a shared network. The data rate is below 1 Gbps per single stream, so the number of streams and the backbone capacity have to be worked out before ordering.

  • Dante AV on the EN300 requires an additional licence. Anyone who leaves it out of the quote will be correcting the price later.

  • The EN300 draws 11 W on average, but 65 W while reverse charging over USB-C. A power adapter is therefore in the box alongside PoE+ power.

  • The DE300 has one HDMI input and one HDMI output. Two HDMI inputs belong to the EN300 encoder, not to the decoder.

  • The EN300 and the DE300 mount into a rack, under a desk and onto a flat surface. A wall bracket is in the box only with the CT300.

  • The hardware control interfaces are on the CT300. The CT200 controls and manages over the network and through the API, which may not be enough for an installation with a projector, a screen or blinds.

⚑ atlantis note

CT200 or CT300

What decides is everything the unit has to drive physically. 1303168 CT200 leads the control over the network and through the open API. 1303169 CT300 adds 6× RS232, 2× RS422/485, 4 relays, 4× GPIO, 2× IR and an IR Learning port, that is the interfaces for projectors, screens, blind motors, LED lighting, buzzers and sensors. Whenever any of that is in the brief, it is the CT300.

The network is part of the delivery

The data rate is below 1 Gbps per single stream and latency is 16 ms. The number of encoders and decoders is therefore set by the backbone capacity and by how many streams have to run over it at once, not by the number of displays. In a quote, treat the switch and the cabling as a line item, not as an assumption.

The Dante AV licence into the quote

1303167 EN300 has native Dante AV-A and the functions are activated through Dante Ready, but Dante AV itself requires an additional licence. It is the most common hole in a quote for this range, because the price of the device does not include the licence. We settle it separately, before the quote goes out.

The encoder is powered differently from the rest

The EN300 draws 11 W on average, but while reverse charging a laptop over USB-C with 60 W Power Delivery its average consumption rises to 65 W. The 1303135 DE300 decoder against that draws 8 W and the CT200 unit only 2 W. A power adapter is in the EN300 box, so allow room for it and an available socket.

Which room it suits

Recommended deployment

Recommended use

designed installations where video, audio and USB are to run over an IP network instead of over fixed HDMI and USB runs

Place in the portfolio

the Yealink AV ONE range, that is AV over IP

Good fit

A hall, a lecture room or a control room where there are more sources and displays than cable runs, where the layout changes and where a gigabit network already exists. An installation that calls for recording or streaming, which the capture card in the DE300 suits. A room where the laptop is to arrive on a single USB-C cable.

Verify

How many streams have to run over the network at once and what capacity the backbone has. Who owns the network and who will make the settings in it. Whether the Dante AV licence is in the quote. Whether the CT200 is enough or the CT300 with hardware interfaces is needed. Where the power adapters will sit. Which sources and displays will be connected and what resolution they have.

Consider another model

A direct HDMI and USB connection where it is one room with one display and one source. An MVC system with a video bar where it is only about a video call and not about distributing the picture around the building.

The "Verify" and "Consider another model" cards come from the experience of the atlantis team.

Platforms and connection

Recommended

Encoder, decoder and control

Sources connect into an EN300 encoder, displays to DE300 decoders, and the whole is routed and managed by a CT200 or CT300 controller. The number of encoders and decoders follows the number of sources and displays, not the number of rooms.

What to check before ordering and deploying

  1. Sources and displays: how many EN300 encoders and how many DE300 decoders the system needs

  2. Network: how many streams have to run at once; the data rate is below 1 Gbps per single stream

  3. Licence: whether the additional Dante AV licence for the EN300 encoder is in the quote

  4. Power: PoE+ to 802.3at class 4, but the EN300 draws 65 W on average while reverse charging over USB-C, and an adapter is in the box

  5. Inputs: the EN300 has two HDMI inputs and USB-C, the DE300 one HDMI input and one HDMI output

  6. Control: whether the CT200 over the network is enough, or the CT300 with hardware interfaces is needed

  7. Mounting: the EN300 and the DE300 into a rack, under a desk and onto a flat surface, the CT300 also into a 19" rack and onto a wall

  8. Support: the AMS extended warranty against an individual device, order it with the goods

The atlantis team will help with every point. With AV over IP we also help to think through the network capacity and the number of concurrent streams, the split of roles between the CT200 and the CT300, and getting the Dante AV licence into the quote before it comes up at the customer.

Management and services

  • Management follows the platform: in native mode the device is managed from the administration of the platform the room runs.

  • Yealink Management Cloud Service (YMCS): cloud management of Yealink devices, that is bulk firmware updates, status monitoring and alerts. Support and the scope of management differ by model and licence, so check both with us for the specific device and system.

atlantis services for partners

atlantis is a direct importer and distributor, and we deliver projects through a network of specialist partners. The services below are therefore offered to the partner, not to the end customer. The partner sets the scope. On one project we take on the whole delivery, on another we cover just the part the partner currently lacks capacity or specialisation for, and on a third the partner manages alone and uses us only for a consultation.

  • Before the decision: a consultation on choosing the system and a comparison of the suitable options. The recommendation is built on the size and the character of the room, that is light, acoustics, shape, seating layout and furnishing, then on headcount and on how meetings are actually run there. We offer a live demonstration at our premises, which the partner can bring their customer to, and where it is warranted a test installation, that is a proof of concept.

  • Delivery and installation: transport, professional mounting and the work that goes with it, that is cabling, installation material, brackets and room alterations. We handle the installation in full, or support the partner's own team where needed.

  • Network readiness and security: we advise on preparing the network for the demands of two-way real-time video, that is throughput, latency and traffic prioritisation, and on securing the communication.

  • Configuration and integration: setting up the communication platform and the room account, connecting to the network, and advice on linking and integrating third-party software and hardware.

  • Training and documentation: training prepared to match the user's role, that is one thing for room users and another for administrators, plus preparation of both project and user documentation.

  • Service and support after the sale: our certified team in Czech, available to the partner throughout the equipment's life. We handle a warranty claim with the manufacturer on the partner's behalf.

Warranty

The standard warranty on Yealink products is 24 months. On top of it we offer two different things that are easy to confuse.

Extended warranty

AMS

Extends the warranty period, that is how long the customer is entitled to repair or replacement of a faulty unit. The abbreviation stands for Assurance Maintenance Services.

1 to 3 years

Service programme

PrimeCare

Changes how the service is delivered. It covers priority support with escalation during business hours, advance hardware replacement with the unit dispatched the next business day from local European service stock, warranty service aligned with the licence period, the YMCS-Room-Professional package, software updates and access to the Yealink online support centre.

2 to 5 years

Take note

Which one to pick

A customer buys one of them, not both. AMS is enough where a longer warranty is all that is needed, PrimeCare is the choice where room downtime is expensive and the customer needs fast replacement and management. For video products the cap on total warranty is five years, and AMS is bought consecutively, so it must not leave a gap at the end of the existing warranty.

FAQ

Which unit in the AV over IP range is the encoder and which the decoder?

Yealink EN300 is the encoder, that is the AVoIP transmitter, which takes two HDMI sources and a laptop over USB-C and sends the picture into the network. DE300 is the decoder, that is the AVoIP receiver, which assembles the picture from the network onto a display and has a seamless 2 × 2 video matrix and a capture card.

What network does the AV over IP range need?

The Yealink EN300 and DE300 have a data rate below 1 Gbps per single stream, so an ordinary gigabit network. They carry up to 4K at 60 Hz with 4:4:4 chroma sampling and 8 bit colour depth, at 16 ms latency. The backbone capacity and the number of concurrent streams have to be worked out from the number of encoders and decoders in the project.

Does the EN300 do Dante?

The Yealink EN300 has native Dante AV-A and the functions are activated through Dante Ready. Dante AV itself, however, requires an additional licence, so it belongs in the quote as a separate line item.

How do the CT200 and the CT300 differ?

The Yealink CT200 leads the control over the network and through the open API, with an automatically generated H5 interface, one PoE port to 802.3af, one RJ45 and an MGMT port. The CT300 adds hardware interfaces, that is 6× RS232, 2× RS422/485, 4 relays, 4× GPIO, 2× IR and an IR Learning port, and through them it drives projectors, screens, blind motors, LED lighting, buzzers and sensors.

What does the DE300 add over a plain video receiver?

The Yealink DE300 has a built in seamless 2 × 2 video matrix, an integrated video capture card for recording and streaming, and it controls the display over RS-232, CEC and IR. Of its USB interfaces, one USB-B 3.0 serves as a capture output into a computer.

How are the EN300 and the DE300 powered?

The Yealink EN300 and DE300 are powered from PoE+ to IEEE 802.3at class 4 and a power adapter comes in the box with them. The EN300 draws 11 W on average and 4.5 W in standby, and while reverse charging over USB-C with 60 W Power Delivery its average consumption rises to 65 W. The DE300 draws 8 W on average and 5.4 W in standby.
