When to choose it

1303111

RoomSensor (this product)

a replaceable lithium battery, four-year life

an ordinary meeting room where knowing whether it is occupied is enough and there is nowhere to bring power

1303123

RoomSensor Pro

DC or PoE

a room where the number of people matters and where power or network can be brought in

The difference is not only in the power. The RoomSensor reports occupancy; the RoomSensor Pro additionally counts people with an AI algorithm and recognises people who are not moving. For room utilisation data that is a material difference.

Key features

  • The RoomSensor detects presence with passive infrared PIR technology

  • The RoomSensor has a 120° detection angle and four-year battery life

  • Besides occupancy the RoomSensor measures temperature, humidity and light

  • The RoomSensor has built-in Bluetooth 5.0 and magnetic mounting with an adjustable lens for the detection zone shape

  • The RoomSensor Pro counts people with an AI algorithm and recognises both moving and stationary people

  • The RoomSensor Pro covers 50 m², and at an installation height of 3 metres the detection radius is 4 metres

  • The RoomSensor Pro supports up to eight adjustable detection zones

  • The RoomSensor Pro is powered from DC or PoE, so there is no battery to deal with

Description

A calendar booking is not the same as a used room

The calendar shows the room as occupied but does not say whether anyone is actually in it. An occupancy sensor catches that difference and passes it to the booking system and the panel at the door. Besides occupancy the RoomSensor also tracks temperature, humidity and light.

A battery sensor against a mains-powered one

The RoomSensor is battery powered and uses a replaceable lithium battery with a four-year life. It therefore goes in even where power cannot reach. The RoomSensor Pro is powered from DC or PoE, so there is no battery to deal with, and none to replace across dozens of rooms.

People counting changes the utilisation data

The RoomSensor Pro counts people with an AI algorithm and recognises both moving and stationary people. The customer therefore learns not only that the room is occupied but how many people are in it. For deciding on the size and number of meeting rooms that is a different quality of data from a plain occupied or free.

Strengths and limits

Strengths

  • The RoomSensor runs four years on its battery, so the installation needs no electrician

  • Magnetic mounting and an adjustable lens, so the detection zone shape can be set to the room

  • The RoomSensor Pro counts people and recognises those who are not moving

  • The RoomSensor Pro handles up to eight detection zones, so one sensor covers a more complex space

Limits and what to tell the customer

  • We will confirm the box contents of both sensors before you order. Our price list names tape, screws and an adapter, so do not carry these into the quote as part of the delivery for now.

  • The RoomSensor battery is a replaceable lithium cell. Do not confirm the specific cell type to the customer.

  • The detection angle is 120°.

  • The RoomSensor Pro has a recommended installation height of no more than 3 metres, at which the detection radius is 4 metres. In taller spaces the design has to be checked.

  • The sensors carry no platform certification. They work as accessories to Yealink systems, not as standalone endpoints of a booking system.

  • The 50 m² coverage of the Pro is the manufacturer's figure for one sensor. In a larger or more complex room it is worth checking how many units are needed.

⚑ atlantis note

Which code to order

Where occupied or free is enough and power cannot reach, 1303111 (RoomSensor) with its four-year battery. Where the customer wants data on the number of people and there is somewhere to bring power or network, 1303123 (RoomSensor Pro).

Have the box contents confirmed

We will confirm the box contents of both sensors before you order. Do not write tape, screws or a power adapter into the quote as part of the delivery for now. Tell us where the sensor will be mounted and we will confirm the delivery contents for that code.

Installation height on the Pro

We recommend installing the RoomSensor Pro at no more than 3 metres the detection radius is 4 metres at that height. In entrance halls and spaces with a higher ceiling, go through the design with us so the sensor does not cover only part of the floor area.

The sensor complements the panel, it does not replace it

The sensor reports real usage; the RoomPanel shows availability and takes a booking at the door. Together they give the customer both a picture of utilisation and a way to release a room that somebody booked and never came to.

Coverage, RoomSensor Pro

50 m², with a 4 metre detection radius at an installation height of 3 metres

Place in the portfolio

a complement to booking panels and MVC systems; the RoomSensor is part of the C5 and C5U systems

Good fit

A building with several meeting rooms where the customer is asking whether the bookings are real. Adding utilisation data to booking panels. An environment where the number and size of meeting rooms is under review. With the Pro model, places where the number of people matters.

Verify

Which booking system will take the data. Where the sensor will be mounted and at what height. Whether there is power or a network port at that spot, as the Pro needs DC or PoE. How large and complex the room is against one sensor's coverage. What exactly is in the box, check that with us.

Consider another model

A RoomPanel booking panel where the point is showing availability at the door. An MTouch E2 controller where the motion sensor should sit in the room controller itself. An MVC system where the RoomSensor is part of the C5 or C5U code.

The "Verify" and "Consider another model" cards come from the experience of the atlantis team.

What to check before ordering and deploying

  1. What the customer wants to measure: occupancy alone suits the RoomSensor; only the RoomSensor Pro counts people

  2. Power: the RoomSensor runs on a battery, the RoomSensor Pro needs DC or PoE

  3. Height and mounting point: on the Pro we recommend no more than 3 metres, giving a 4 metre detection radius

  4. Room size: the Pro covers 50 m²; for a larger area we will confirm how many units are needed

  5. Delivery contents: we do not yet confirm mounting material or an adapter as part of the box, and we will check them

  6. Battery: a replaceable lithium cell with a four-year life; do not confirm the cell type to the customer

  7. Booking system: whether it will take the sensor's data and how it shows on the panel at the door

  8. Support: the AMS extended warranty, order it with the device

The atlantis team will help with every point. From designing the system and the mounting through configuring the platform and the room account to training the users and handing over documentation. On these sensors we will also confirm the box contents with your order.

Management and services

  • Management follows the platform: in native mode the device is managed from the administration of the platform the room runs.

  • Yealink Management Cloud Service (YMCS): cloud management of Yealink devices, that is bulk firmware updates, status monitoring and alerts. Support and the scope of management differ by model and licence, so check both with us for the specific device and system.

atlantis services for partners

atlantis is a direct importer and distributor, and we deliver projects through a network of specialist partners. The services below are therefore offered to the partner, not to the end customer. The partner sets the scope. On one project we take on the whole delivery, on another we cover just the part the partner currently lacks capacity or specialisation for, and on a third the partner manages alone and uses us only for a consultation.

  • Before the decision: a consultation on choosing the system and a comparison of the suitable options. The recommendation is built on the size and the character of the room, that is light, acoustics, shape, seating layout and furnishing, then on headcount and on how meetings are actually run there. We offer a live demonstration at our premises, which the partner can bring their customer to, and where it is warranted a test installation, that is a proof of concept.

  • Delivery and installation: transport, professional mounting and the work that goes with it, that is cabling, installation material, brackets and room alterations. We handle the installation in full, or support the partner's own team where needed.

  • Network readiness and security: we advise on preparing the network for the demands of two-way real-time video, that is throughput, latency and traffic prioritisation, and on securing the communication.

  • Configuration and integration: setting up the communication platform and the room account, connecting to the network, and advice on linking and integrating third-party software and hardware.

  • Training and documentation: training prepared to match the user's role, that is one thing for room users and another for administrators, plus preparation of both project and user documentation.

  • Service and support after the sale: our certified team in Czech, available to the partner throughout the equipment's life. We handle a warranty claim with the manufacturer on the partner's behalf.

Warranty

The standard warranty on Yealink products is 24 months. On top of it we offer two different things that are easy to confuse.

Extended warranty

AMS

Extends the warranty period, that is how long the customer is entitled to repair or replacement of a faulty unit. The abbreviation stands for Assurance Maintenance Services.

1 to 3 years

Service programme

PrimeCare

Changes how the service is delivered. It covers priority support with escalation during business hours, advance hardware replacement with the unit dispatched the next business day from local European service stock, warranty service aligned with the licence period, the YMCS-Room-Professional package, software updates and access to the Yealink online support centre.

2 to 5 years

Take note

Which one to pick

A customer buys one of them, not both. AMS is enough where a longer warranty is all that is needed, PrimeCare is the choice where room downtime is expensive and the customer needs fast replacement and management. For video products the cap on total warranty is five years, and AMS is bought consecutively, so it must not leave a gap at the end of the existing warranty.

Order codes. AMS for the RoomSensor 510102001620 for one year, 510102001618 for two years and 510102001617 for three years. AMS for the RoomSensor Pro 510102001632 for one year, 510102001630 for two years and 510102001628 for three years. PrimeCare is not ordered for standalone sensors; the programme is tied to the room size class of the MVC, MeetingBar, MeetingBoard and BYOD systems.

FAQ

What battery does the RoomSensor use?

The Yealink RoomSensor has a replaceable lithium battery with a four-year life. Our price list mentions the CR123 type. Do not confirm the specific cell type to the customer.

Are mounting material and a power adapter in the box?

We will confirm the box contents of both the RoomSensor and the RoomSensor Pro before you order. The RoomSensor mounts magnetically and the Pro with 3M adhesive tape or by drilling, but those are supported mounting methods, not the box contents. We will confirm the delivery contents for a specific code before you order.

What is the difference between the RoomSensor and the RoomSensor Pro?

The Yealink RoomSensor is a battery PIR sensor that reports occupancy and measures temperature, humidity and light. The RoomSensor Pro is powered from DC or PoE and additionally counts people with an AI algorithm, recognising both moving and stationary people. It covers 50 m² and handles up to eight detection zones.

At what height is the sensor mounted?

The Yealink RoomSensor Pro installs at no more than 3 metres, and at that height the detection radius is 4 metres. The battery RoomSensor mounts magnetically and has an adjustable lens for different detection zone shapes.

Does the sensor replace the booking panel at the door?

No. The Yealink RoomSensor reports whether the room is genuinely in use but displays nothing. Availability at the door is shown by a RoomPanel E2 1303172 or RoomPanel Plus E2 1303196 booking panel, which also takes a booking on the spot. Both belong in the quote separately.

Is the sensor part of the MVC systems?

Yes, of some of them. The Yealink RoomSensor is part of the MVC systems with the C5 and C5U codes, for example the MVC S40-C5U-000 or the MVC860-C5-000. It is not in the contents of the confirmed C4 system. The RoomSensor Pro is part of no system and is ordered separately.
