Description

One code instead of five items

MVC is a ready-made system in which Yealink supplies the imaging part, the compute unit, the touch controller and usually an occupancy sensor too under one order code. The partner therefore does not have to assemble the room from components and check that they match. The MVC-S range is the fourth generation with SmartVision cameras.

Three ways to cover a small or medium room

The MVC S40 builds on the SmartVision 40 video bar, which holds the cameras and the audio in one body above the display. The MVC S50 uses a MeetingBar A50 in USB mode as both the imaging and the audio part, that is a full video bar with three lenses. The MVC S60 puts a SmartVision 60 with 360° pickup on the table, which suits rooms where people sit around the table rather than facing the display.

What the system does not contain

Neither a display, nor network cables, nor a room account in Microsoft Teams is part of any MVC system. A display is always required with these systems, because the imaging part is a camera or a video bar, not a screen. Mounting, cabling and network readiness belong in the quote as well.

Strengths and limits

Strengths

  • One order code instead of five items, with no risk that the controller does not match the camera

  • Windows and native Microsoft Teams Rooms, an environment the customer's administrator already knows

  • On the C5 and C5U systems the occupancy sensor is included, so the room reports its real usage

  • The MVC S50 brings in the A50 video bar, which handles audio too, so separate audio is not needed

Limits and what to tell the customer

  • No system includes a display or a room account. Nor network cables. They belong in the quote separately, otherwise the installation cannot be completed.

  • We will confirm the make-up of the MVC S40 Plus-C4-000 before you order. Resellers in Denmark and the Netherlands list an added MTower camera.

  • The MVC S60-C5-000 has the older MCore Pro compute part with an Intel Core i5, 8GB DDR4 and a 128GB SSD, not an MCore 4. The code is C5, not C5U.

  • The C4 and C5 codes differ in the controller and the sensor as well. A C4 system has an MTouch E2 and no RoomSensor, while the C5 and C5U systems have an MTouch Plus and a RoomSensor.

  • The box contents are listed per component, not for the system as a whole. We will confirm how many power supplies and what length of HDMI cables the partner receives at order time.

  • Voice pickup on the SmartVision 40 is up to 6 metres. This camera supports up to two expansion microphones, and for a longer meeting table we will check the expansion.

  • Some features depend on the platform licence, not on the device. Two displays on Microsoft Teams Rooms need the Pro licence, see the atlantis note.

  • The MVC S60 supports neither expansion microphones nor ceiling audio. The VCM35, VCM36-W, CM20 and CS10 cannot be connected to the SmartVision 60. For a longer meeting table the MVC S40 or MVC S50 is the right answer.

⚑ atlantis note

Which code to order

For a small meeting room, 1106893 (MVC S40-C5U-000), where camera and audio sit in one video bar. For a medium room with higher picture demands, 1103846 (MVC S50-C5U-000) with the MeetingBar A50. Where people sit around the table rather than facing the display, 1106986 (MVC S60-C5-000) with 360° pickup.

The letter U decides the performance

The C5U code means an MCore 4 compute unit with an Intel Core Ultra 5 and 16GB DDR5; the C5 code means an MCore Pro with an Intel Core i5 and 8GB DDR4. It is the same difference as between the standalone units. The MVC S60 system is listed as C5, that is with an MCore Pro.

What the MVC S50 camera really is

The imaging part of the MVC S50 system is a MeetingBar A50 in USB mode, that is a video bar with microphones and speakers, not a standalone camera. Write it that way in the quote, so that partner and customer alike know the room will have one device above the display and that audio comes with it.

A display always belongs in the quote

No MVC system includes a display. Confirm how many displays there will be, at what resolution and how they are mounted, and at the same time how the cabling reaches the compute unit. This is the most common reason an installation cannot be finished on the first visit.

The platform licence decides the features

Some features of a meeting room system are set not by the hardware but by the licence of the communication platform. On Microsoft Teams Rooms a typical example is dual screen support, which belongs to the paid Pro licence, while the free Basic licence lacks it and is also capped at 25 licences per organisation. The feature comparison is on Microsoft's website. Include the licence in the quote from the start; adding it afterwards is awkward.

A longer room, add MTower

On the MVC S50 system with the A50 video bar we recommend adding one or two MTower cameras 1306173 at the centre of the meeting table in rooms longer than ten metres, just as with a standalone A50. Participants are then seen close up and from the front rather than from the head of the room. One MTower can be connected to the MVC S40, none to the MVC S60. We will design and test the system together with the partner.

Place in the portfolio

a complete system for Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows; display and room account are not included

Good fit

A small or medium meeting room. An environment where the customer requires Windows and the Microsoft Teams Rooms application. A requirement for a room with its own account and meetings started from the calendar. A customer who wants the system under one order code and one warranty.

Verify

How many displays the room should have and who supplies them. How the camera or video bar will be mounted. Where the compute unit will stand and how the cabling reaches the controller. Whether there is a network socket in the room. Who will create the room account in Microsoft Teams. How the table length compares with the pickup range.

Consider another model

An all-in-one video bar where the room need not run Windows. The MVC systems for large rooms and halls where a PTZ camera, an AV hub or separate audio is needed. A MeetingBoard where the device should replace the display as well.

The "Verify" and "Consider another model" cards come from the experience of the atlantis team.

What to check before ordering and deploying

  1. Room size and shape: whether people face the display or sit around the table, which decides the imaging part

  2. Display: how many, at what resolution and how mounted; no system includes one

  3. Compute part: the C5U code means an MCore 4, the C5 and C4 codes mean an MCore Pro

  4. Controller: the C5 and C5U systems have an 11.6 inch MTouch Plus, a C4 system has an 8 inch MTouch E2

  5. Occupancy sensor: included in the C5 and C5U systems, not in the confirmed C4 system

  6. Table length: SmartVision 40 voice pickup is up to 6 metres; for a longer table we will confirm the expansion

  7. Room account and network: who will create the Microsoft Teams account and whether there is a network socket

  8. Support: PrimeCare by the room size class or the AMS extended warranty, order it with the system

The atlantis team will help with every point. From designing the system and the mounting through configuring the platform and the room account to training the users and handing over documentation. On these systems we will also confirm the make-up of code 1106894 and the exact delivery contents of a system as a whole with your order.

Management and services

  • Management follows the platform: in native mode the device is managed from the administration of the platform the room runs.

  • Yealink Management Cloud Service (YMCS): cloud management of Yealink devices, that is bulk firmware updates, status monitoring and alerts. Support and the scope of management differ by model and licence, so check both with us for the specific device and system.

atlantis services for partners

atlantis is a direct importer and distributor, and we deliver projects through a network of specialist partners. The services below are therefore offered to the partner, not to the end customer. The partner sets the scope. On one project we take on the whole delivery, on another we cover just the part the partner currently lacks capacity or specialisation for, and on a third the partner manages alone and uses us only for a consultation.

  • Before the decision: a consultation on choosing the system and a comparison of the suitable options. The recommendation is built on the size and the character of the room, that is light, acoustics, shape, seating layout and furnishing, then on headcount and on how meetings are actually run there. We offer a live demonstration at our premises, which the partner can bring their customer to, and where it is warranted a test installation, that is a proof of concept.

  • Delivery and installation: transport, professional mounting and the work that goes with it, that is cabling, installation material, brackets and room alterations. We handle the installation in full, or support the partner's own team where needed.

  • Network readiness and security: we advise on preparing the network for the demands of two-way real-time video, that is throughput, latency and traffic prioritisation, and on securing the communication.

  • Configuration and integration: setting up the communication platform and the room account, connecting to the network, and advice on linking and integrating third-party software and hardware.

  • Training and documentation: training prepared to match the user's role, that is one thing for room users and another for administrators, plus preparation of both project and user documentation.

  • Service and support after the sale: our certified team in Czech, available to the partner throughout the equipment's life. We handle a warranty claim with the manufacturer on the partner's behalf.

Warranty

The standard warranty on Yealink products is 24 months. On top of it we offer two different things that are easy to confuse.

Extended warranty

AMS

Extends the warranty period, that is how long the customer is entitled to repair or replacement of a faulty unit. The abbreviation stands for Assurance Maintenance Services.

1 to 3 years

Service programme

PrimeCare

Changes how the service is delivered. It covers priority support with escalation during business hours, advance hardware replacement with the unit dispatched the next business day from local European service stock, warranty service aligned with the licence period, the YMCS-Room-Professional package, software updates and access to the Yealink online support centre.

2 to 5 years

Take note

Which one to pick

A customer buys one of them, not both. AMS is enough where a longer warranty is all that is needed, PrimeCare is the choice where room downtime is expensive and the customer needs fast replacement and management. For video products the cap on total warranty is five years, and AMS is bought consecutively, so it must not leave a gap at the end of the existing warranty.

FAQ

What exactly do I get in one system?

The Yealink MVC S40-C5U-000 contains a SmartVision 40 video bar, an MCore 4 mini-PC, an 11.6 inch MTouch Plus touch controller and a RoomSensor occupancy sensor. The MCore 4 comes with a power supply, a wall bracket and three HDMI cables; the MTouch Plus with a bracket, double-coating tape, a USB type C cable with an HDMI adapter and a 7.5 m Ethernet cable. A display, network cables and the room account are not included.

What does C5U mean against C5 and C4?

Yealink MVC systems denote the compute part after the letter "C". C5U is an MCore 4, an MTouch Plus and a RoomSensor; C5 is an MCore Pro, an MTouch Plus and a RoomSensor; C4 is an MCore Pro and an MTouch E2. The letter "U" therefore stands for swapping an Intel Core i5 for an Intel Core Ultra 5. The key is derived from the contents of the individual systems.

Is the MVC S50 camera a standalone camera?

No. The Yealink MVC S50-C5U-000 uses a MeetingBar A50 video bar in USB mode as both its imaging and its audio part, that is a device with three 50MP lenses, microphones and speakers. The room will therefore have one device above the display, not a camera plus separate audio.

Does the MVC S40 Plus include an MTower camera?

We will confirm the make-up of the Yealink MVC S40 Plus-C4-000 before you order. The confirmed variant is the MVC S40-C4-000, with a SmartVision 40, an MCore Pro and an MTouch E2. Resellers in Denmark and the Netherlands list an added MTower camera on the Plus variant.

Does the room need a display with the system?

Yes. Yealink MVC systems for small and medium rooms include no display; the imaging part is a camera or a video bar. The display, its mounting and the cabling belong in the quote separately. If the device should replace the display as well, the MeetingBoard range is the right answer.

How far does the system pick up voice?

The SmartVision 40 video bar has an array of eight MEMS microphones with pickup up to 6 metres and supports up to two expansion microphones. For a longer meeting table we will therefore confirm the expansion for the specific system. On the MVC S50 the audio is handled by the MeetingBar A50 video bar.
