Key features

  • The MTouch Plus has an 11.6 inch anti-fingerprint and anti-glare IPS display at 1920 × 1080

  • The MTouch E2 has an 8 inch IPS display at 1280 × 800, 290 cd/m² brightness and 1000:1 contrast

  • 10-point multi-touch on both sizes

  • The MTouch E2 has a built-in Human Motion Sensor

  • The MTouch Plus does wireless content sharing over AirPlay, Miracast and GoogleCast

  • The MTouch Plus has a USB-C PD port; with a PD supply connected it shares content and powers a laptop at once

  • One MTouch Plus serves up to four MTouch Plus-EXT expansion panels, that is five control screens in total

  • The MTouch E2 takes HDMI and USB-C video in, shares at 1080p and 30 frames per second and has its own Wi-Fi access point

Description

The single place the room is run from

MTouch is a touch panel on the table or on the wall from which a meeting is started, a call is answered, the camera is steered and content is shared. It is neither a tablet nor a computer: the compute part sits in the MCore unit or in the MeetingBoard panel. The controller connects to it through the MCore Pro port, also referred to as the VCH port, on an RJ-45 connector.

Two sizes and two roles

The MTouch E2 is an eight-inch controller with a built-in motion sensor that reports the presence of people to the system. The MTouch Plus is an 11.6 inch third-generation controller that adds wireless content sharing and a 3.5 mm headset port to the control function. The MTouch Plus-MB variant is meant for MeetingBoard panels running Teams Rooms on Windows, and it is compatible with all MTRoW boards.

A hall needs more than one control point

The MTouch Plus-EXT expansion panel works as another screen of the same controller. One MTouch Plus serves up to four expansion panels, that is up to five control points, and the panels work in the same network as the main controller with no distance limit. They can be mounted on a wall, fixed to a table, or left free-standing on it.

Strengths and limits

Strengths

  • The MTouch Plus takes an angle of 30° to 70° to the table top, so both table and wall placement work

  • Wireless sharing straight from the controller, AirPlay, Miracast and GoogleCast, with no further box

  • With a PD supply connected, USB-C shares content and powers a guest laptop at the same time

  • The MTouch E2 reports the presence of people through its built-in motion sensor, so the system knows whether the room is occupied

Limits and what to tell the customer

  • Plan for the MCore Pro (VCH) port and the optional 65W PD supply. Keep power over Ethernet out of the quote.

  • Only the MTouch Plus box contents are known exactly. For the MTouch E2, the MTouch Plus-MB and the MTouch Plus-Ex Package we will confirm the delivery contents before you order.

  • Do not carry brightness values or wireless sharing features over to the MTouch Plus-MB from the MTouch Plus or the MTouch E2.

  • The MTouch Plus comes in a space black finish.

  • The box holds "USB Type-C Cable (with HDMI Adapter)" and "7.5m Ethernet Cable".

  • The WPP30 module and the 65W PD supply are listed as optional for the MTouch Plus, so they are not automatically part of the delivery.

  • The RoomSensor pairs only with the MTouch Plus and MTouch Plus-MB, up to eight units. It does not work with the MTouch E2, which has its own motion sensor. The RoomSensor Pro does not pair with MTouch controllers.

  • Some features depend on the platform licence, not on the device. Two displays on Microsoft Teams Rooms need the Pro licence, see the atlantis note.

⚑ atlantis note

Which code to order

The room's role decides. 1306022 (MTouch Plus) for meeting rooms where content should also be shared from the controller and where there is table space for an 11.6 inch panel. 1306058 (MTouch E2) where control alone is enough and the motion sensor is useful. 1306072 (MTouch Plus-MB) for MeetingBoard panels running Teams Rooms on Windows.

Keep PoE out of the quote

Our price list mentions PoE on the MTouch controllers. The controller is in fact powered through the MCore Pro (VCH) port. Quote that connection and the optional 65W PD supply. If the customer builds the room's power around a PoE switch, raise it with us in advance rather than discovering it at the installation.

A hall with two tables

If the hall is to be controlled from two places, for example at the top table and by the entrance, the quote needs the 1303092 expansion panel. The limit is four expansions per MTouch Plus, that is at most five control screens in one room.

Sharing without a cable across the table

One of the MTouch Plus USB-A ports takes the WPP30 module 1303112. A guest then sends their picture to the display at the press of a button, with no software to install and no cable dragged across the table. The module is optional on the MTouch Plus, so order it separately.

The platform licence decides the features

Some features of a meeting room system are set not by the hardware but by the licence of the communication platform. On Microsoft Teams Rooms a typical example is dual screen support, which belongs to the paid Pro licence, while the free Basic licence lacks it and is also capped at 25 licences per organisation. The feature comparison is on Microsoft's website. Include the licence in the quote from the start; adding it afterwards is awkward.

Recommended use

touch control of MVC systems and MeetingBoard panels

The MB variant is intended for

panels running Teams Rooms on Windows; compatible with all MTRoW boards

Place in the portfolio

a component of a system, connected to the MCore compute unit through the MCore Pro (VCH) port

Good fit

A meeting room with an MVC system where a meeting should start with a touch from the table. A MeetingBoard panel that needs a control panel. A hall where the system has to be run from several places. A room where a guest should share content without a cable.

Verify

Which compute unit is in the room and what controller port it has. Whether the controller will rest on the table or be fixed down. How the cable reaches the unit and over what distance. Whether the customer expects power from PoE. Whether the WPP30 module should be included.

Consider another model

A video bar with a remote control where no touch panel is needed. A complete MVC system where the controller should be part of one order code. A RoomPanel booking panel where the point is control at the door rather than control of the meeting.

The "Verify" and "Consider another model" cards come from the experience of the atlantis team.

What to check before ordering and deploying

  1. Compute unit: which one is in the room and that it has an MCore Pro, that is VCH, port for the controller

  2. Power: the MCore Pro port or the optional 65W PD supply

  3. Panel size: the 11.6 inch MTouch Plus or the 8 inch MTouch E2, decided by table space and the room's role

  4. Placement: free on the table, fixed to it or on the wall; the MTouch Plus takes 30° to 70°

  5. Distance to the unit: the MTouch Plus box holds a 7.5 m Ethernet cable, so plan a longer run in advance

  6. Number of control points: for a hall consider MTouch Plus-EXT panels, with a limit of four per controller

  7. Content sharing: whether the WPP30 module should be included; it is listed as optional for the MTouch Plus

  8. Support: the AMS extended warranty, order it with the device

The atlantis team will help with every point. From designing the system and the mounting through configuring the platform and the room account to training the users and handing over documentation. On this product we will also confirm the box contents of the individual variants with your order.

Management and services

  • Management follows the platform: in native mode the device is managed from the administration of the platform the room runs.

  • Yealink Management Cloud Service (YMCS): cloud management of Yealink devices, that is bulk firmware updates, status monitoring and alerts. Support and the scope of management differ by model and licence, so check both with us for the specific device and system.

atlantis services for partners

atlantis is a direct importer and distributor, and we deliver projects through a network of specialist partners. The services below are therefore offered to the partner, not to the end customer. The partner sets the scope. On one project we take on the whole delivery, on another we cover just the part the partner currently lacks capacity or specialisation for, and on a third the partner manages alone and uses us only for a consultation.

  • Before the decision: a consultation on choosing the system and a comparison of the suitable options. The recommendation is built on the size and the character of the room, that is light, acoustics, shape, seating layout and furnishing, then on headcount and on how meetings are actually run there. We offer a live demonstration at our premises, which the partner can bring their customer to, and where it is warranted a test installation, that is a proof of concept.

  • Delivery and installation: transport, professional mounting and the work that goes with it, that is cabling, installation material, brackets and room alterations. We handle the installation in full, or support the partner's own team where needed.

  • Network readiness and security: we advise on preparing the network for the demands of two-way real-time video, that is throughput, latency and traffic prioritisation, and on securing the communication.

  • Configuration and integration: setting up the communication platform and the room account, connecting to the network, and advice on linking and integrating third-party software and hardware.

  • Training and documentation: training prepared to match the user's role, that is one thing for room users and another for administrators, plus preparation of both project and user documentation.

  • Service and support after the sale: our certified team in Czech, available to the partner throughout the equipment's life. We handle a warranty claim with the manufacturer on the partner's behalf.

Warranty

The standard warranty on Yealink products is 24 months. On top of it we offer two different things that are easy to confuse.

Extended warranty

AMS

Extends the warranty period, that is how long the customer is entitled to repair or replacement of a faulty unit. The abbreviation stands for Assurance Maintenance Services.

1 to 3 years

Service programme

PrimeCare

Changes how the service is delivered. It covers priority support with escalation during business hours, advance hardware replacement with the unit dispatched the next business day from local European service stock, warranty service aligned with the licence period, the YMCS-Room-Professional package, software updates and access to the Yealink online support centre.

2 to 5 years

Take note

Which one to pick

A customer buys one of them, not both. AMS is enough where a longer warranty is all that is needed, PrimeCare is the choice where room downtime is expensive and the customer needs fast replacement and management. For video products the cap on total warranty is five years, and AMS is bought consecutively, so it must not leave a gap at the end of the existing warranty.

FAQ

Is the controller powered over Ethernet?

The MTouch Plus connects through the MCore Pro (VCH) port, with a 65W PD adapter as the optional supply. Our price list mentions PoE on these items; do not carry it into a customer quote, and design the room's power around the MCore Pro (VCH) port.

What is the difference between the MTouch Plus and the MTouch E2?

The Yealink MTouch Plus is an 11.6 inch third-generation controller at 1920 × 1080 with wireless sharing over AirPlay, Miracast and GoogleCast, a headset port and an expansion port for further panels. The MTouch E2 is an 8 inch controller at 1280 × 800 with a built-in motion sensor, HDMI and USB-C video input and its own Wi-Fi access point.

How many control points can one room have?

The Yealink MTouch Plus serves up to four MTouch Plus-EXT expansion panels, that is up to five control screens in one room. The panels work in the same network as the main controller and with no distance limit.

What is in the controller's box?

The Yealink MTouch Plus box holds the panel, a mounting bracket, double-coating tape, a USB type C cable with an HDMI adapter and a 7.5 m Ethernet cable. The WPP30 module and the 65W PD supply are optional. We will confirm the box contents of the MTouch E2, the MTouch Plus-MB and the expansion panel before you order.

Can the controller charge a laptop?

The Yealink MTouch Plus can share content and power a laptop over USB-C at the same time when a PD supply is connected. Without a PD supply it does not have this function. The 65 W PD supply is an optional accessory, so order it separately.
