  • Eight times digital zoom, an electronic gimbal and nine preset positions

  • Auto framing, speaker tracking and the IntelliFocus function

  • An electrically operated lens cap for privacy

  • An array of sixteen MEMS microphones with pickup up to 10 metres

  • Four 5 W speakers, maximum sound pressure level 97 dBSPL

  • Native Microsoft Teams and Zoom mode, plus a USB mode for a connected computer

Description

One device instead of a system

The MeetingBar A50 brings cameras, microphones, speakers and the compute unit together in one body above the display. The room therefore gains no separate PC, no separate camera and no table microphones, which shortens the installation and reduces the number of places where something can come unplugged. The device runs Android 13.

Three cameras rather than one

The system has one wide-angle camera with a 98-degree horizontal field of view, which covers the whole room, and two telephoto cameras with a 41.6-degree field of view, which bring the speaker closer. Framing therefore does not come from cropping one image but from switching between lenses, so detail is not lost when zooming in. This is not a mechanical PTZ head; the movement is electronic.

A native room system for Teams and Zoom

In the default deployment the A50 is a room system of its own with its own room account. The meeting starts from the calendar on the device itself, with no laptop. For Microsoft Teams this is the Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android variant, where the A50 sits in Microsoft's list of certified devices for a 4.5 × 8.5 m room; for Zoom it is the Zoom Rooms Appliance variant, certified in the system with the CTP25 touch panel, that is code 1206707. Choosing the platform is a configuration step at deployment, not a switch during a meeting.

The system runs on Android 13 with the MDEP platform, Microsoft's Android platform for certified Teams devices. It brings verified boot, hardware-backed keys and device-state evidence, applications stay separated from the privileged parts of the system, system and firmware updates are orchestrated centrally, and the device is managed through Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Entra ID. In the list of certified Teams Rooms on Android devices the A50 carries a certification end date of 15 August 2028, which is the figure to quote a customer asking about the life of the investment.

Or as a USB peripheral to a PC, that is the MVC S50 system

The second option is to run the A50 as an all-in-one peripheral of a connected computer. The video bar then serves as camera, microphone and speaker and covers any platform that computer can run. This is not the same thing as BYOD in a natively deployed room; it is a different way of running the whole room.

Yealink sells the A50 combined with the MCore 4 compute unit as a ready-made system called MVC S50, which is certified for Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows. It is the route for a customer who requires Windows on room systems, wants management identical to the rest of the company, or needs features available only on the Windows variant of Teams Rooms.

Strengths and limits

Strengths

  • Three cameras, so the speaker is brought closer without losing detail to a crop

  • Voice pickup up to 10 metres, enough for a longer meeting table

  • Two HDMI outputs, so two displays without another box

  • The lens cap is electric, so the privacy state is visible from the room

Limits and what to tell the customer

  • The control method is fixed by the order code. The VCR11 remote and the CTP25 touch panel do not come in one box, see the variants table above.

  • Neither the display mount nor the tabletop mount is in the box. A wall mount is included. For mounting to a TV, below the display as well as above it, the code is 3311118; for a table it is 3311119.

  • The zoom is digital, eight times. For a large hall with a long distance to the speaker, a solution with optical zoom is the right answer.

  • The native platform is set by configuration, not chosen during a meeting. Changing it means an administrator's intervention.

  • Past 10 metres of pickup the built-in microphones are not enough. On a longer table add up to three expansion microphones; in large rooms add a ceiling microphone and speakers, or an MTower expansion camera.

  • Some features depend on the platform licence, not on the device. Dual screens on Microsoft Teams Rooms require the Pro licence, see the atlantis note.

⚑ atlantis note

Which code to order

The control method decides. 1206706 includes the VCR11 remote, 1206707 includes the CTP25 touch panel with a power adapter. We recommend the panel where anyone should be able to start a meeting from the table without hunting for a remote, that is in busy meeting rooms and at customers where remotes go missing.

Mounting belongs in the quote

A wall mount is in the box. If the video bar is to go on a TV or stand on a table, order the relevant mount separately, 3311118 for mounting to a display or 3311119 for a table. This is the most common reason an installation cannot be finished on the first visit.

The mount does both positions

The 3311118 mount handles fitting below the TV as well as above it. The bottom position is the base one; the included top bracket flips it up quickly. The bottom position also suits the A40 and SmartVision 40.

BYOD without a cable compromise

On the system with the CTP25 touch console, that is order code 1206707, BYOD is available straight from the console over a single USB-C cable, with no further accessories. The laptop gets 4K content sharing, the room's cameras and audio, and charging at the same time. On code 1206706 with the remote control the same function is bought as the 1303229 hub (VCH51 Pro). Where the customer counts on guest laptops, this is the main reason to go straight for 1206707.

A long room calls for an MTower

Where the room runs longer than ten metres, we recommend extending the system with one or even two MTower1306173 cameras with built-in microphones. The camera stands in the middle of the meeting table and its near-circular field of view shows participants close up and from the front, not from the head of the room. For remote participants that is a visible difference, because the backs and profiles disappear. We design and trial the arrangement together with the partner.

The platform licence decides the features

Some room-system features are not a matter of hardware but of the communication platform licence. On Microsoft Teams Rooms the standard example is dual screen support, which belongs to the paid Pro licence, while the free Basic licence does not have it and is also capped at 25 licences per organisation. The feature comparison is on Microsoft's pages. Put the licence in the quote from the start; adding it afterwards is awkward.

an all-in-one video bar room system with native Microsoft Teams and Zoom support

Good fit

A meeting room for seven to fifteen people, a requirement for a room with its own account and meetings started from the calendar, a need for two displays, a Microsoft Teams or Zoom environment.

Verify

Which platform the room should run natively. Whether a remote is enough or a touch panel is needed. How the video bar will be mounted, that is wall, display or table. Whether guest laptops will also use the room. On a room longer than ten metres, whether to add expansion microphones, ceiling audio or MTower cameras. Whether there is a network socket where the device is to hang.

Consider another model

A smaller video bar for a huddle room. A MeetingBoard where the device should replace the display as well and serve as a whiteboard. A system with a PC where the customer requires Windows.

The "Verify" and "Consider another model" cards come from the experience of the atlantis team.

What to check before ordering and deploying

  1. Platform: which one the room should run natively, Teams or Zoom, and who will create the room account

  2. Control: the VCR11 remote or the CTP25 touch panel, fixed by the order code

  3. Mounting: wall, on a TV (below as well as above the display) or on a table; only the wall mount is in the box

  4. Display: how many and at what resolution; the device has two HDMI outputs

  5. Network: a socket where the device is mounted, cable or Wi-Fi 6, and the network rules for room devices

  6. BYOD: whether guest laptops will use the room, and with them the 1303229 hub

  7. Room size: voice pickup is up to 10 metres; for a longer table we will confirm the expansion options

  8. Support: PrimeCare or extended warranty, order it with the device

The atlantis team will help with every point. From designing the system and the mounting through configuring the platform and the room account to training the users and handing over documentation.

Management and services

  • Management follows the platform: in native mode the device is managed from the administration of the platform the room runs.

  • Yealink Management Cloud Service (YMCS): cloud management of Yealink devices, that is bulk firmware updates, status monitoring and alerts. Support and the scope of management differ by model and licence, so check both with us for the specific device and system.

atlantis services for partners

atlantis is a direct importer and distributor, and we deliver projects through a network of specialist partners. The services below are therefore offered to the partner, not to the end customer. The partner sets the scope. On one project we take on the whole delivery, on another we cover just the part the partner currently lacks capacity or specialisation for, and on a third the partner manages alone and uses us only for a consultation.

  • Before the decision: a consultation on choosing the system and a comparison of the suitable options. The recommendation is built on the size and the character of the room, that is light, acoustics, shape, seating layout and furnishing, then on headcount and on how meetings are actually run there. We offer a live demonstration at our premises, which the partner can bring their customer to, and where it is warranted a test installation, that is a proof of concept.

  • Delivery and installation: transport, professional mounting and the work that goes with it, that is cabling, installation material, brackets and room alterations. We handle the installation in full, or support the partner's own team where needed.

  • Network readiness and security: we advise on preparing the network for the demands of two-way real-time video, that is throughput, latency and traffic prioritisation, and on securing the communication.

  • Configuration and integration: setting up the communication platform and the room account, connecting to the network, and advice on linking and integrating third-party software and hardware.

  • Training and documentation: training prepared to match the user's role, that is one thing for room users and another for administrators, plus preparation of both project and user documentation.

  • Service and support after the sale: our certified team in Czech, available to the partner throughout the equipment's life. We handle a warranty claim with the manufacturer on the partner's behalf.

Warranty

The standard warranty on Yealink products is 24 months. On top of it we offer two different things that are easy to confuse.

Extended warranty

AMS

Extends the warranty period, that is how long the customer is entitled to repair or replacement of a faulty unit. The abbreviation stands for Assurance Maintenance Services.

1 to 3 years

Service programme

PrimeCare

Changes how the service is delivered. It covers priority support with escalation during business hours, advance hardware replacement with the unit dispatched the next business day from local European service stock, warranty service aligned with the licence period, the YMCS-Room-Professional package, software updates and access to the Yealink online support centre.

2 to 5 years

Take note

Which one to pick

A customer buys one of them, not both. AMS is enough where a longer warranty is all that is needed, PrimeCare is the choice where room downtime is expensive and the customer needs fast replacement and management. For video products the cap on total warranty is five years, and AMS is bought consecutively, so it must not leave a gap at the end of the existing warranty.

FAQ

What is the difference between codes 1206706 and 1206707?

The Yealink MeetingBar A50 video bar is the same on both. 1206706 includes the VCR11 remote control, 1206707 includes the CTP25 touch panel with a 10.1 inch screen and a power adapter. Swapping them afterwards means placing another order.

Does the room need a computer to run?

In native mode, no. The MeetingBar A50 has its own compute unit on Android 13 and the room has its own account, so the meeting starts from the calendar on the device itself. A computer is only needed in USB mode, where the video bar serves as the camera and audio of a connected laptop.

Can the device drive two displays?

Yes, the Yealink MeetingBar A50 has two HDMI outputs and the usual deployment is one display for participants and one for shared content. Watch the platform licence, though. On Microsoft Teams Rooms dual screen support belongs to the paid Pro licence. With the free Basic licence that comes with a certified system at no extra cost, only one output stays usable. The comparison of the two licences is on Microsoft's pages.

Can the A50 run on Windows?

In native mode the Yealink MeetingBar A50 is an Android 13 system. Where the customer requires Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows, the A50 runs as a USB peripheral of a compute unit. The ready-made system of an A50 with an MCore 4 unit is sold as MVC S50 and is certified for Teams Rooms on Windows.

Is the zoom optical?

No, it is digital and eight times. Bringing the speaker closer, however, does not come from cropping one image: the device switches between the wide-angle camera and the two telephoto cameras. For a large hall with a long distance to the speaker, a solution with optical zoom is the right answer.

Is a mount included, and can the bar go below the display?

A wall mount is in the box. For mounting to a TV the code is 3311118 and it handles both positions: the base installation is at the bottom of the TV, with reconfiguration to a top-mounted position using the included top bracket. For standing on a table the code is 3311119. Neither mount is part of the video bar package.

Can the room be switched from Teams to Zoom?

The Yealink MeetingBar A50 natively supports Microsoft Teams Rooms and Zoom Rooms; for Zoom Rooms the certified system comes with the CTP25 panel, code 1206707. Changing the native platform is, however, an administrator's configuration step, not a choice at the start of a meeting. If the room has to alternate platforms daily, USB mode with a laptop is more practical.
