Yealink VCM35 wired tabletop microphone
VCM35 - EOO
Yealink VCM expansion microphones — tabletop microphones that add voice pickup where the built-in array of a video bar, a MeetingBoard or a camera does not reach the whole table. We carry three codes: the wired VCM35 on clearance, its successor the VCM35 Pro and the wireless VCM36-W Pro.
An expansion of a device, not a standalone microphone
VCM35, three microphones, 360° pickup, clearance
VCM35 Pro, 6+1 array, PoE powered
VCM36-W Pro, four microphones, wireless
3 m optimal range on both Pro models
Different microphone models cannot be mixed

Description
Three codes, two generations
The VCM35 is the first generation of the tabletop microphone, a three-microphone array with 360° pickup, Optima HD Audio, full duplex audio, echo cancellation and noise suppression up to 90 dB. The VCM35 Pro is its successor with a 6+1 microphone array, an optimal range of up to 3 m and speaker recognition for Microsoft Teams. The VCM36-W Pro is the wireless counterpart with four microphones, 360° pickup and a 3 m optimal range. The microphone is always an expansion of a device; the meeting is run by the video bar, the MeetingBoard, the camera or the system's compute unit.
Wired or wireless
The VCM35 and the VCM35 Pro connect over a network cable. The box holds a 5 m cable and an RJ45 adapter that extends it. The VCM35 Pro additionally takes power from PoE and carries two VCH ports, so further units are daisy-chained and the room does not need a separate cable run to every microphone. The VCM35 is wired in a star layout. The VCM36-W Pro needs no cable to the table at all, it connects wirelessly on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands and is secured with WPA2 and AES-128.
How many units and to what
The maximum number of units differs from device to device. The MeetingBar A40 takes two microphones, the MeetingBar A50 three, the MeetingBoard Pro four, and an AVHub or a UVC86 or UVC84 camera eight VCM35 units. The MeetingBar A25 does not support expansion microphones, none of the three codes belongs to it. The Pro models have their own compatibility list that differs from the first generation, so the unit counts are given only for the devices listed in the table below.
Strengths and limits
Strengths
The VCM35 Pro and the VCM36-W Pro allow the same maximum unit counts on the MeetingBar A40 and A50, so the choice between cable and wireless does not change the room design
The VCM35 Pro is PoE powered and daisy-chains over two VCH ports, which simplifies the cabling considerably once there are several units
The VCM35 Pro can be installed flush into the table top, so nothing sits on the table and nothing gets knocked over
The VCM36-W Pro needs no cable to the table and lasts up to 24 hours of conferencing, recharging simply by being put back in the dock
On an AVHub and on the UVC86 and UVC84 cameras the VCM35 scales to eight units, which covers a large hall and a long table
Limits and what to tell the customer
The VCM35 is on clearance. New projects belong to the VCM35 Pro or the VCM36-W Pro, and for the VCM35 check availability with us before quoting.
Different microphone models cannot be mixed in one room. An existing VCM35 therefore cannot be topped up with a new VCM35 Pro, a room is fitted with a single model.
The MeetingBar A25 does not support expansion microphones, none of the three codes belongs to it.
The Pro models have a different compatibility list from the first generation. On the MeetingBar A10 and A30, on the AVHub and on the UVC cameras the unit count for the VCM35 Pro and the VCM36-W Pro is not stated, so talk to us about such a project.
The MeetingBoard C EDLA does not support the Pro models, it works only with the VCM35, and with two units.
The maximum counts apply only from a given device firmware, on the MeetingBar A40 from 289.320.0.94 and on the A50 from 323.320.0.71. Older firmware has to be upgraded before installation.
We carry the AMS extended warranty for the VCM35 only, for the Pro models it is not in our price list.
⚑ The atlantis note
Which microphone for a new installation
Cabling to the table decides. When the table is fixed and a cable runs to it or can be added, choose the VCM35 Pro, because it takes power from PoE, daisy-chains over two VCH ports and can be set flush into the top. When the table moves, has no cable to it or drilling is not allowed, choose the VCM36-W Pro. Both allow the same maximum unit counts on the MeetingBar A40 and A50, so the room design is unaffected.
Clearance on the VCM35 and what follows from it
Code 1303144 is listed in our price list as clearance. That means limited availability according to remaining stock, not the end of support. It makes sense where an existing first-generation room is being topped up, where it is part of the MVC860-C5-710 system, or where the customer needs eight units on an AVHub or a UVC86 camera. Do not offer it in a new project without checking availability with us first.
Unit counts differ from device to device
There is no single number for the whole range. The MeetingBar A40 takes two microphones, the A50 three, the MeetingBoard Pro four, and an AVHub or a UVC86 or UVC84 camera eight VCM35 units. Before you promise the customer a number of microphones for a long table, check in the table below which device they connect to.
One generation per room and a firmware check
Different microphone models cannot be mixed in one room, so extending an existing installation means the same model that is already there. On top of that, watch the firmware on the MeetingBar A40 and A50: the maximum counts for the Pro models apply from version 289.320.0.94 and 323.320.0.71 respectively. Put the firmware upgrade into the installation plan so it does not surface on site.
Which room
VCM35 | topping up a room where the first generation already runs, and large halls with an AVHub or a UVC86 camera that need up to eight units, on clearance |
|---|---|
VCM35 Pro | a new wired installation, a fixed table that allows cabling or a flush cut-out, PoE power |
VCM36-W Pro | a table with no cabling, a meeting room with a changing layout and spaces where drilling is not allowed |
Place in the portfolio | expansion microphones for MeetingBar video bars, for MeetingBoards, for UVC cameras and for the AVHub |
A good fit
A long meeting table where the built-in array of the video bar does not reach the far end. A meeting room with a MeetingBar A40 or A50 planned for two or three microphones. A MeetingBoard Pro, which takes four units. A large hall with an AVHub or a UVC86 camera, where the VCM35 covers up to eight seats.
Check first
Which device the microphones connect to, because the maximum count differs. Which firmware the device runs, as the Pro counts on the A40 and A50 apply only from a given version. Whether a microphone is already in the room, since models are not mixed. Whether a cable runs to the table and PoE is in the installation. For the VCM35, availability, it is on clearance.
Consider another model
The CM20 ceiling microphone where the table is to stay clear and pickup comes from the ceiling. The MeetingBar A25 does not support expansion microphones, so another video bar is needed there. The SmartVision 60 tabletop camera where a single device in the middle of the table should handle image and audio at once.
The "A good fit" field follows the maximum unit counts on the individual devices, the "Check first" and "Consider another model" fields come from the practice of the atlantis team.
Platforms and connection
Wired connection
Network cable into the VCH port
The VCM35 and the VCM35 Pro connect over a network cable into the device's VCH port, on the MeetingBoard Pro on its body. The box holds a 5 m cable and an RJ45 adapter for extension. The VCM35 Pro additionally draws power from PoE.

Watch out
One generation per room
Different microphone models cannot be mixed in one room, so an extension means the same model. The platform is handled by the device the microphone is connected to, not by the microphone itself. Speaker recognition for Microsoft Teams comes with the VCM35 Pro.

Support: the AMS extended warranty for the VCM35, order it together with the device
The atlantis team helps with every point. From laying out the microphones on the table through cabling, power and configuration to training the users and handing over the documentation. On expansion microphones we also confirm the box contents at order time and the availability of the clearance VCM35, so you do not promise the customer an item we no longer have.
Management and services
Management follows the platform: in native mode the device is managed from the administration of the platform the room runs.
Yealink Management Cloud Service (YMCS): cloud management of Yealink devices, that is bulk firmware updates, status monitoring and alerts. Support and the scope of management differ by model and licence, so check both with us for the specific device and system.
atlantis services for partners
atlantis is a direct importer and distributor, and we deliver projects through a network of specialist partners. The services below are therefore offered to the partner, not to the end customer. The partner sets the scope. On one project we take on the whole delivery, on another we cover just the part the partner currently lacks capacity or specialisation for, and on a third the partner manages alone and uses us only for a consultation.
Before the decision: a consultation on choosing the system and a comparison of the suitable options. The recommendation is built on the size and the character of the room, that is light, acoustics, shape, seating layout and furnishing, then on headcount and on how meetings are actually run there. We offer a live demonstration at our premises, which the partner can bring their customer to, and where it is warranted a test installation, that is a proof of concept.
Delivery and installation: transport, professional mounting and the work that goes with it, that is cabling, installation material, brackets and room alterations. We handle the installation in full, or support the partner's own team where needed.
Network readiness and security: we advise on preparing the network for the demands of two-way real-time video, that is throughput, latency and traffic prioritisation, and on securing the communication.
Configuration and integration: setting up the communication platform and the room account, connecting to the network, and advice on linking and integrating third-party software and hardware.
Training and documentation: training prepared to match the user's role, that is one thing for room users and another for administrators, plus preparation of both project and user documentation.
Service and support after the sale: our certified team in Czech, available to the partner throughout the equipment's life. We handle a warranty claim with the manufacturer on the partner's behalf.
Warranty
The standard warranty on Yealink products is 24 months. On top of it we offer two different things that are easy to confuse.
Extended warranty
AMS
Extends the warranty period, that is how long the customer is entitled to repair or replacement of a faulty unit. The abbreviation stands for Assurance Maintenance Services.
1 to 3 years
Service programme
PrimeCare
Changes how the service is delivered. It covers priority support with escalation during business hours, advance hardware replacement with the unit dispatched the next business day from local European service stock, warranty service aligned with the licence period, the YMCS-Room-Professional package, software updates and access to the Yealink online support centre.
2 to 5 years
Take note
Which one to pick
A customer buys one of them, not both. AMS is enough where a longer warranty is all that is needed, PrimeCare is the choice where room downtime is expensive and the customer needs fast replacement and management. For video products the cap on total warranty is five years, and AMS is bought consecutively, so it must not leave a gap at the end of the existing warranty.
one programme
five-year cap
no gap
Order codes. Of these three codes we carry the AMS extended warranty for the VCM35 only: one year 510102001432, two years 510102001430 and three years 510102001428. For the VCM35 Pro and the VCM36-W Pro AMS is not in our price list, so ask us about it for the specific project. PrimeCare is ordered by room size class against the whole system, not against an expansion microphone on its own.
FAQ
How do the VCM35 and the VCM35 Pro differ?
The VCM35 has a three-microphone array, 360° pickup, a star wiring layout and mutes by touch on the body. The VCM35 Pro has a 6+1 microphone array, an optimal range of up to 3 m, PoE power, two VCH ports for daisy-chaining further units, mounting by adhesive or flush into the table top, and speaker recognition for Microsoft Teams. Compatibility differs between the two, the lists for the generations are not interchangeable.
How many microphones can be connected to one device?
It depends on the device. The MeetingBar A10 one unit, the A30 three, the A40 two and the A50 three. The MeetingBoard Pro four, the MeetingBoard C EDLA two VCM35 units. An AVHub and the UVC86 and UVC84 cameras eight VCM35 units, the UVC40 E2 camera one. The MeetingBar A25 does not support expansion microphones. On the MeetingBar A40 and A50 the counts for the Pro models apply from firmware 289.320.0.94 and 323.320.0.71 respectively.
How do the microphones connect?
The VCM35 and the VCM35 Pro over a network cable into the device's VCH port, on the MeetingBoard Pro on its body. The box holds a 5 m cable and an RJ45 adapter that extends it. The VCM35 Pro additionally draws power from PoE and carries two VCH ports for daisy-chaining. The VCM36-W Pro connects wirelessly on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands with WPA2 and AES-128 security, and needs no cable to the table.
What does clearance mean on the VCM35?
We list code 1303144 VCM35 in our price list as clearance, that is with limited availability according to remaining stock. New projects belong to the VCM35 Pro or the VCM36-W Pro. The VCM35 makes sense where an existing first-generation room is being topped up, where it is part of the MVC860-C5-710 system, our 1106897, or where up to eight units are needed on an AVHub or a UVC86 camera. Check availability with us before quoting.
Can different models be mixed in one room?
No. Different microphone models cannot be mixed in one room. An existing VCM35 therefore cannot be topped up with a new VCM35 Pro or with a wireless VCM36-W Pro, a room is fitted with a single model. When extending an existing installation, always establish which model is already in the room.
How long does the VCM36-W Pro last on a charge?
The Yealink VCM36-W Pro handles up to 24 hours of conferencing and 14 days on standby. It charges in the wireless charging dock, which is in the box together with a 5 V / 2 A power adapter and a USB-C cable. In everyday use that means charging between meetings, it is enough to put the microphone back in the dock.
