Description

Camera, microphones and speaker in one body

A video bar brings image and audio together in a single device above the display. A small room therefore gains no separate camera, table microphone or speaker, and the installation is shorter. Against the room cameras, that is the UVC30 Room, UVC85 and UVC86, this is the main difference: those have no microphone and no speaker of their own and give no call without a separate audio unit.

Framing and speaker tracking

Both models have auto framing, that is a picture that adjusts itself to the number of people at the table. The UVC34 adds AI Face Enhancement and a 5x e-PTZ digital zoom. The UVC40 E2 adds speaker tracking, smart area exposure and sound localization. The lens cap is electric on both models, so the privacy state is visible from the room.

One cable to the computer

UVC video bars are USB devices, so the meeting is run by the connected computer. The room therefore has no account of its own and the meeting is not started from a calendar on the device, as it is on video bars with their own compute unit. The UVC34 has a 7 metre USB cable, so the computer can sit on the far side of the room. The UVC40 E2 has a wired network connection and remote device management.

Strengths and limits

Strengths

  • Image and audio in one device, no table microphone added to the room

  • 4K and a 120 degree field of view on both models

  • An electric lens cap, the privacy state is visible from the room

  • On the UVC34 a 7 metre USB cable and the VCR20 remote in the box

Limits and what to tell the customer

  • We confirm the box contents of the UVC40 E2 at order time. Do not put a cable, a remote or a bracket in the quotation until they are confirmed. On the previous UVC40 model the TV mount kit is optional.

  • The zoom on the UVC34 is digital, 5x e-PTZ. A large room with a long distance to the speaker calls for a camera with optical zoom, that is the UVC85 or UVC86.

  • The UVC34 has a microphone pickup distance of 4.5 metres. For a longer table choose the UVC34, or a system with a room microphone.

  • The field of view on the E2 version is 120 degrees, narrower than the 133 degrees of the previous UVC40. Point that out to a customer replacing an older unit.

  • The UVC34 is UAC and UVC compliant and supports Teams, Zoom, Google Meet and Cisco Webex. Where certification is a requirement, we will obtain proof.

  • The room has no account of its own. A video bar is a USB device and the connected computer runs the meeting.

⚑ atlantis note

Which model to offer

The UVC34 where you want specific figures in the quotation: 4.5 metre voice pickup, a 5 W speaker, a 7 metre USB cable and the VCR20 remote in the box. The UVC40 E2 where the customer wants speaker tracking and remote management over the network. We confirm the contents of the E2 delivery before ordering.

Mounting belongs in the quotation

The UVC34 has a wall mount with accessories in the box. On the previous UVC40 model the TV mount kit is explicitly optional, and for the E2 version we confirm the box contents at order time. Before the installation, settle whether the video bar goes on the wall or on the display, and order the bracket separately if needed. This is the most common reason an installation is not finished on the first visit.

A video bar, or a camera and audio separately

A video bar covers a small room with one device. As soon as the table is longer than a few metres, a room camera and a separate audio unit pay off instead, that is the UVC85 or UVC86 with the CP50 microphone, which picks up to 6 metres and can be daisy chained.

Good fit

A small meeting room or huddle room that should have one device above the display. Rooms run from a laptop where platforms change. Rooms where people today call from a laptop with no other equipment.

Verify

How long the table is, because of the pickup range. Where the video bar will be mounted, wall or display. How far the computer will sit, because of the USB cable length. Whether the customer requires a platform certification. For the UVC40 E2, the contents of the delivery.

Consider another model

The UVC85 or UVC86 with the CP50 microphone for a medium or large room. The UVC20 for one person at a computer. A video bar with its own compute unit where the room should have its own account and start meetings from a calendar.

The "Verify" and "Consider another model" cards come from the experience of the atlantis team.

What to check before ordering and deploying

  1. Room size: the UVC34 picks up voice to 4.5 metres

  2. Contents of the delivery: for the UVC40 E2 we confirm cable, remote and bracket before ordering

  3. Mounting: wall or display; the UVC34 has a wall mount in the box, the TV mount kit on the previous UVC40 is optional

  4. Distance to the computer: the UVC34 cable is 7 metres, a longer run needs a separate answer

  5. Platform: a video bar is a USB device, the connected computer runs the meeting and the room has no account

  6. Certification: if the customer requires it, we will obtain proof

  7. Zoom: 5x digital on the UVC34

  8. Field of view: 120 degrees on both models, narrowed from 133 degrees when replacing an older UVC40

The atlantis team will help with every point. On UVC video bars most often with the mounting design and the USB cable run, and with confirming the contents of the E2 delivery.

Management and services

  • Management follows the platform: in native mode the device is managed from the administration of the platform the room runs.

  • Yealink Management Cloud Service (YMCS): cloud management of Yealink devices, that is bulk firmware updates, status monitoring and alerts. Support and the scope of management differ by model and licence, so check both with us for the specific device and system.

atlantis services for partners

atlantis is a direct importer and distributor, and we deliver projects through a network of specialist partners. The services below are therefore offered to the partner, not to the end customer. The partner sets the scope. On one project we take on the whole delivery, on another we cover just the part the partner currently lacks capacity or specialisation for, and on a third the partner manages alone and uses us only for a consultation.

  • Before the decision: a consultation on choosing the system and a comparison of the suitable options. The recommendation is built on the size and the character of the room, that is light, acoustics, shape, seating layout and furnishing, then on headcount and on how meetings are actually run there. We offer a live demonstration at our premises, which the partner can bring their customer to, and where it is warranted a test installation, that is a proof of concept.

  • Delivery and installation: transport, professional mounting and the work that goes with it, that is cabling, installation material, brackets and room alterations. We handle the installation in full, or support the partner's own team where needed.

  • Network readiness and security: we advise on preparing the network for the demands of two-way real-time video, that is throughput, latency and traffic prioritisation, and on securing the communication.

  • Configuration and integration: setting up the communication platform and the room account, connecting to the network, and advice on linking and integrating third-party software and hardware.

  • Training and documentation: training prepared to match the user's role, that is one thing for room users and another for administrators, plus preparation of both project and user documentation.

  • Service and support after the sale: our certified team in Czech, available to the partner throughout the equipment's life. We handle a warranty claim with the manufacturer on the partner's behalf.

Warranty

The standard warranty on Yealink products is 24 months. On top of it we offer two different things that are easy to confuse.

Extended warranty

AMS

Extends the warranty period, that is how long the customer is entitled to repair or replacement of a faulty unit. The abbreviation stands for Assurance Maintenance Services.

1 to 3 years

Service programme

PrimeCare

Changes how the service is delivered. It covers priority support with escalation during business hours, advance hardware replacement with the unit dispatched the next business day from local European service stock, warranty service aligned with the licence period, the YMCS-Room-Professional package, software updates and access to the Yealink online support centre.

2 to 5 years

Take note

Which one to pick

A customer buys one of them, not both. AMS is enough where a longer warranty is all that is needed, PrimeCare is the choice where room downtime is expensive and the customer needs fast replacement and management. For video products the cap on total warranty is five years, and AMS is bought consecutively, so it must not leave a gap at the end of the existing warranty.

FAQ

What is the difference between the UVC34 and the UVC40 E2?

The Yealink UVC34 has an 8 MP sensor, 4K at 30 frames, a 5x e-PTZ digital zoom, voice pickup to 4.5 metres, a 5 W speaker, a 7 metre USB cable and the VCR20 remote in the box. The UVC40 E2 has 4K, a 120 degree field of view, eight MEMS microphones, speaker tracking and remote management over the network.

Does the room need a computer?

The Yealink UVC34 and UVC40 E2 are both USB devices, so the connected computer runs the meeting and the room has no account of its own. If the customer wants meetings started from a calendar on the device itself, a video bar with its own compute unit is the answer.

Is a bracket in the box?

The Yealink UVC34 has a wall mount with accessories, a power adapter, the VCR20 remote and a 7 metre USB cable in the box. For the UVC40 E2 we confirm the box contents at order time, and on the previous UVC40 model the TV mount kit is optional, so check it before the installation.

Is the zoom optical?

The Yealink UVC34 has a 5x digital zoom designated e-PTZ. A large room with a long distance to the speaker calls for a camera with optical zoom, that is the UVC85 or UVC86.

How large a table does a video bar cover?

The Yealink UVC34 has voice pickup to 4.5 metres. Both models are intended for a small room, the UVC40 E2 for 1 to 5 people. A longer table calls for a room camera with the CP50 microphone, which picks up to 6 metres and can be daisy chained.

Are the video bars certified for Teams and Zoom?

The Yealink UVC34 is UAC and UVC compliant and supports Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet and Cisco Webex. Where certification is a stated requirement, we will obtain proof.
