Description

A room camera needs audio from elsewhere

The UVC30 Room, UVC85 and UVC86 are meeting room cameras. They have no microphone and no speaker of their own, so on their own they give no call and the system needs an audio unit, for example the CP50 microphone. That sets them apart from the UVC34 and UVC40 E2 video bars, where audio sits in one body with the camera, and from the UVC20 personal webcam. On the other hand the split brings freedom: image and audio can be designed separately to suit the shape of the room.

From a small room to a large hall

The UVC30 Room has a 120 degree field of view, 3x digital zoom and framing based on face detection, and it is intended for small and huddle rooms. The UVC85 has 12x optical zoom and a narrower 90 degree field of view, so it brings a speaker closer even at a distance without losing detail to cropping. The UVC86 has two 8 MP Sony sensors, one panoramic with a 120 degree field of view and one PTZ with 90 degrees, plus speaker and presenter tracking and picture in picture.

A camera in a different box: the kit and the system

Two items in this group are not a standalone camera. The UVC30 ContentCamKit is a kit for capturing a traditional whiteboard; the image goes into a Microsoft Teams meeting and the kit is intended for Teams Rooms on Windows, with a whiteboard 6 to 9 feet wide. The UVC85-BYOD-200 is a two-box system of the UVC85 camera and the CP50 microphone for medium and large rooms in BYOD use: one USB-C cable runs from the computer and one network cable between the camera and the CP50.

Strengths and limits

Strengths

  • Optical zoom on the UVC85 and UVC86, bringing a speaker closer without losing detail to cropping

  • The UVC86 with two lenses, panorama and detail at once, plus three presenter tracking modes

  • Image and audio are designed separately to suit the shape of the room

  • The UVC30 Room has Microsoft and Zoom certification and mounts on top of, under or beside a monitor as well as on a wall

Limits and what to tell the customer

  • None of these cameras has a microphone or a speaker of its own. The system needs an audio unit, for example the CP50 under code 1304031.

  • The UVC86 has no Ethernet cable in the box. The box holds the camera, the VCR20 remote, a power adapter, a wall bracket with accessories and a 7 m USB cable. Network cabling belongs in the project separately.

  • The UVC30 ContentCamKit holds only the camera, a length adjustable wall mount bracket, accessories with screws and a quick start guide. It includes neither an extension cable nor a cable lock.

  • The UVC85 has auto framing. Speaker and presenter tracking are on the UVC86.

  • Privacy is handled differently by model. The UVC85 has a clip-on lens cap in the box, while the UVC86 has an electric cap that opens when the conference starts.

  • The UVC30 Room has Microsoft Teams and Zoom certification. Where certification is a requirement, we will obtain proof.

  • The UVC30 ContentCamKit is not an ordinary camera for a call. It is intended for capturing a whiteboard for Teams Rooms on Windows.

⚑ atlantis note

Which camera for which room

The UVC30 Room for a small room where a wide shot and face-based framing are enough. The UVC85 where the speaker sits further from the camera and optical zoom is needed. The UVC86 for a large meeting room or training room, where the presenter should be tracked while the whole room is still shown. Design the audio for each of them separately.

Cables and power belong in the project

The UVC85 box holds a 2.5 m USB cable and 7.5 m of Ethernet; the UVC86 box holds a 7 m USB cable and no Ethernet cable. The UVC30 Room box holds a 3 m USB cable. Check the lengths against the room plan before the engineer travels, because a missing cable means a second visit.

The UVC85-BYOD-200 system has two boxes

The system holds two power adapters and two 7.5 m Ethernet cables, one in each box, plus a 2.5 m USB-A to USB-B cable for the camera and, with the CP50, a 1.2 m USB-C cable and a 1.8 m HDMI cable. A quotation built on a shortened description is missing roughly half the delivery.

Which room it suits

Recommended deployment

UVC30 Room

small and huddle rooms, 4K, 120° field of view

UVC85 and the UVC85-BYOD-200 system

medium and large meeting rooms, 12x optical zoom, with 6 metre audio pickup in the system

UVC86

a large room, two lenses, speaker and presenter tracking

UVC30 ContentCamKit

a room with a traditional whiteboard and Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows, whiteboard 6 to 9 feet

Good fit

A meeting room where image and audio are designed separately. Large rooms with a greater distance to the speaker. Training rooms where the presenter needs tracking. Rooms with a whiteboard running Teams Rooms on Windows.

Verify

What will pick up the audio, because the cameras have no microphone. How the cables will run and how far the computer or terminal sits. Whether an Ethernet cable is needed, as the UVC86 has none in the box. Whether the customer requires a platform certification. Where the camera will be mounted.

Consider another model

The UVC34 or UVC40 E2 video bar for a small room where image and audio should sit in one device. The UVC20 for one person at a computer. The CP965 conference phone where only audio and a telephone line are needed.

The "Verify" and "Consider another model" cards come from the experience of the atlantis team.

The atlantis team will help with every point. On room cameras most often with pairing camera and audio to suit the shape of the room and with checking the cabling before the installation.

Management and services

  • Management follows the platform: in native mode the device is managed from the administration of the platform the room runs.

  • Yealink Management Cloud Service (YMCS): cloud management of Yealink devices, that is bulk firmware updates, status monitoring and alerts. Support and the scope of management differ by model and licence, so check both with us for the specific device and system.

atlantis services for partners

atlantis is a direct importer and distributor, and we deliver projects through a network of specialist partners. The services below are therefore offered to the partner, not to the end customer. The partner sets the scope. On one project we take on the whole delivery, on another we cover just the part the partner currently lacks capacity or specialisation for, and on a third the partner manages alone and uses us only for a consultation.

  • Before the decision: a consultation on choosing the system and a comparison of the suitable options. The recommendation is built on the size and the character of the room, that is light, acoustics, shape, seating layout and furnishing, then on headcount and on how meetings are actually run there. We offer a live demonstration at our premises, which the partner can bring their customer to, and where it is warranted a test installation, that is a proof of concept.

  • Delivery and installation: transport, professional mounting and the work that goes with it, that is cabling, installation material, brackets and room alterations. We handle the installation in full, or support the partner's own team where needed.

  • Network readiness and security: we advise on preparing the network for the demands of two-way real-time video, that is throughput, latency and traffic prioritisation, and on securing the communication.

  • Configuration and integration: setting up the communication platform and the room account, connecting to the network, and advice on linking and integrating third-party software and hardware.

  • Training and documentation: training prepared to match the user's role, that is one thing for room users and another for administrators, plus preparation of both project and user documentation.

  • Service and support after the sale: our certified team in Czech, available to the partner throughout the equipment's life. We handle a warranty claim with the manufacturer on the partner's behalf.

Warranty

The standard warranty on Yealink products is 24 months. On top of it we offer two different things that are easy to confuse.

Extended warranty

AMS

Extends the warranty period, that is how long the customer is entitled to repair or replacement of a faulty unit. The abbreviation stands for Assurance Maintenance Services.

1 to 3 years

Service programme

PrimeCare

Changes how the service is delivered. It covers priority support with escalation during business hours, advance hardware replacement with the unit dispatched the next business day from local European service stock, warranty service aligned with the licence period, the YMCS-Room-Professional package, software updates and access to the Yealink online support centre.

2 to 5 years

Take note

Which one to pick

A customer buys one of them, not both. AMS is enough where a longer warranty is all that is needed, PrimeCare is the choice where room downtime is expensive and the customer needs fast replacement and management. For video products the cap on total warranty is five years, and AMS is bought consecutively, so it must not leave a gap at the end of the existing warranty.

AMS for one to three years: UVC85 510102001500, 510102001498 and 510102001495, UVC85-BYOD-200 510102001494, 510102001492 and 510102001489, UVC86 Black 510102001464, 510102001461 and 510102001460, UVC30 ContentCamKit 510102001574, 510102001572 and 510102001570. PrimeCare is ordered against the whole system by room size class, not against the camera on its own.

FAQ

Do the cameras have a microphone of their own?

The Yealink UVC30 Room, UVC85 and UVC86 are room cameras without a microphone or a speaker of their own, so on their own they give no call. Audio is handled by a separate unit, for example the CP50 conference microphone under code 1304031, which picks up 360 degrees to 6 metres. A ready-made pairing of camera and audio is the UVC85-BYOD-200 system.

Is an Ethernet cable in the UVC86 box?

The Yealink UVC86 box contents are the camera, the VCR20 remote, a power adapter, a wall bracket with accessories and a 7 m USB cable. There is no Ethernet cable in the box, so network cabling belongs in the project separately. The UVC85 camera, by contrast, includes a 7.5 m Ethernet cable.

What is the difference between the UVC85 and the UVC86?

The Yealink UVC85 has one lens with a 90 degree field of view, 12x optical and 3x digital zoom and auto framing. The UVC86 has two 8 MP Sony sensors, that is a 120 degree panoramic lens and a 90 degree PTZ lens, 12x optical zoom, speaker and presenter tracking in three modes and an electric lens cap.

What exactly is in the UVC85-BYOD-200 system?

The Yealink UVC85-BYOD-200 is two boxes. The camera box holds the UVC85, the VCR20 remote with two AAA batteries, a 48 V/0.7 A power adapter, a wall mount bracket with accessories, a 2.5 m USB-A to USB-B cable, a 7.5 m Ethernet cable, two cable ties, a lens cap and a quick start guide. The audio box holds the CP50, a 48 V/0.7 A power adapter, optionally 48 V/2 A, a 7.5 m Ethernet cable, a 1.2 m USB-C cable, a 1.8 m HDMI cable, two cable ties, a cable cover with two screws and a quick start guide.

What is the UVC30 ContentCamKit for?

The Yealink UVC30 ContentCamKit is a kit for capturing a traditional whiteboard, whose image goes into a Microsoft Teams meeting. It is compatible with Teams Rooms on Windows and intended for whiteboards 6 to 9 feet wide. The box holds the UVC30 Room camera, a length adjustable wall mount bracket, accessories with screws and a quick start guide; an extension cable and a cable lock are not included.

Are the cameras certified for Teams and Zoom?

The Yealink UVC30 Room has Microsoft and Zoom certification. Where certification is a stated requirement, we will obtain proof.
