Description
A camera for one person at a computer
The UVC20 is a personal webcam, that is a device for one user's monitor. It is intended for desktop use, home working, education and telemedicine. A field of view of 74 degrees matches one person in front of a monitor, not a meeting round a table. Room cameras are different models within the UVC family and have different specifications.
An image that needs no setting up
The camera focuses automatically and handles exposure on its own. For backlight and low light, that is a person sitting with their back to a window or working after dark, it has Smart Light. The user therefore never opens the settings, which matters on a device for home working, because the administrator is not within reach of every home desk.
Certification and privacy
The UVC20 has certification for Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business and Zoom Personal Workspace certification. On a personal webcam that is the main decision criterion in the specifications of large customers. The lens cap is built in and cannot be lost, so the user does not stick tape over the lens.
Strengths and limits
Strengths
Certification for Microsoft Teams, Skype for Business and Zoom Personal Workspace
A built-in lens cap, privacy without extra accessories
Auto focus, automatic exposure and Smart Light for backlight and low light
A built-in microphone, so the user needs no second device
Limits and what to tell the customer
The maximum resolution is 1080p at 30 frames per second. Where the customer requires 4K, the room cameras are the answer, that is the UVC30 Room, UVC85 or UVC86.
A 74 degree field of view is for one person. It is not enough for a meeting table, which calls for a video bar or a room camera with a 120 degree field of view.
The built-in microphone picks up across 180 degrees to 4.9 feet. A call with several people calls for a speakerphone or a room microphone.
The cable is USB 2.0 Type-A, 1.8 m long. On a laptop with USB-C ports only, plan for an adapter; it is not in the box.
No tripod or separate mount is in the box beyond the camera's own clip.
⚑ atlantis note
When the UVC20 and when a room camera
What decides is who is in the picture. The UVC20 has a 74 degree field of view and is meant for one person at a monitor. As soon as several people at a table should be in shot, the quotation calls for the UVC34 or UVC40 E2 video bar with a 120 degree field of view and audio of its own, or a room camera with a separate audio unit.
The certification is a selling point
The UVC20 has Microsoft Teams, Skype for Business and Zoom Personal Workspace certification. Where certification is mandatory, the UVC20 is the safest choice in the family.
Check the ports up front
The camera has a fixed USB 2.0 Type-A cable 1.8 m long. At companies moving to laptops with USB-C only, add an adapter or a docking station to the quotation, otherwise the user has to find one.
Who it suits
Manufacturer's intended use | personal desktop use, home working, education, telemedicine |
|---|---|
Field of view | 74° diagonally, that is one person in front of a monitor |
Place in the portfolio | the only personal USB webcam in the UVC family |
Good fit
Equipping home workers in bulk, adding cameras to desktop computers, classrooms and consultation rooms, and specifications where Teams or Zoom certification is mandatory.
Verify
What ports the computers have, because of the USB-A cable. Whether only one person should be in shot. Whether the built-in microphone is enough or the user will have a headset. Whether the customer requires 4K.
Consider another model
The UVC34 or UVC40 E2 video bar for a small room where several people should be in shot and audio is needed too. The UVC30 Room as a small room camera without audio of its own. The UVC86 for a large meeting room.
The "Verify" and "Consider another model" cards come from the experience of the atlantis team.

What to check before ordering and deploying
Who should be in shot: a 74 degree field of view is for one person at a monitor
Computer ports: the cable is USB 2.0 Type-A, on laptops with USB-C only add an adapter
Resolution in the specification: the camera gives 1080p at 30 frames, 4K belongs to another part of the family
Audio: the built-in microphone picks up across 180 degrees, for several people add conference audio
Certification: for Microsoft Teams, Skype for Business and Zoom Personal Workspace
Lighting: for backlight and low light the camera has Smart Light
Placement: no tripod or separate mount is in the box
Management: firmware updates and settings through Yealink USB Connect
The atlantis team will help with every point. On the UVC20 most often with rolling it out to home workers in bulk and with adding adapters where the customer has laptops with USB-C only.
Management and services
Yealink USB Connect: the manufacturer's tool for managing Yealink USB devices, that is headsets, speakerphones and webcams. It handles firmware updates, feature settings and collecting diagnostic data.
atlantis services for partners
atlantis is a direct importer and distributor, and we supply through a network of specialist partners. The services below are therefore offered to the partner, not to the end customer. The partner sets the scope, according to their own capacity and skills, from a consultation alone to taking on the whole deployment.
Before the decision: a consultation on the model and the order code and a comparison of the suitable variants. We base the recommendation on the user's role, because a contact centre agent, a manager on the move and a shared workstation each need a different headset. We arrange a sample to try so the customer can check comfort, audio and range before ordering for a whole team.
Deployment and configuration: bulk settings and management of the headsets, connection to the communication environment, and advice on linking third-party software and hardware.
Training and documentation: training prepared to match the user's role, plus preparation of the user documentation.
Service and support after the sale: our certified team in Czech, available to the partner throughout the equipment's life. We handle a warranty claim with the manufacturer on the partner's behalf.
Warranty
The standard warranty on Yealink products is 24 months.
FAQ
Is the UVC20 suitable for a meeting room?
The Yealink UVC20 is a personal webcam with a 74 degree field of view and is intended for desktop use, home working, education and telemedicine. A meeting table calls for the UVC34 or UVC40 E2 video bar with a 120 degree field of view, or a room camera with separate audio.
What resolution does the camera give?
The Yealink UVC20 captures 1080p Full HD at 30 frames per second, and 720p at 30 frames. Higher resolution belongs to another part of the UVC family, that is the room cameras and video bars with 4K.
Does the camera have a microphone?
The Yealink UVC20 has a built-in omnidirectional microphone with 180 degree pickup and a range of 4.9 feet. For a call with several people we recommend adding a speakerphone, for example the CP900 or SP92.
Is the camera certified?
The Yealink UVC20 has certification for Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business and Zoom Personal Workspace certification. It is the only model in the UVC family with this certification.
How does it connect and how long is the cable?
The Yealink UVC20 connects with a USB 2.0 Type-A cable 1.8 m long. A USB-C adapter is not in the box, so on laptops with USB-C ports only, plan for one separately.
How is privacy handled?
The Yealink UVC20 has a built-in lens cap which cannot be lost, because it is part of the camera body. The user therefore has no need to tape over the lens or keep track of a clip-on cap.
