What it is for
CM20 ceiling microphones and CS10 speakers are powered and connected over Ethernet and need a switch with EEE disabled, otherwise synchronisation issues and audio dropouts can occur. The RCH40 E2 has EEE disabled, provides 90 W of PoE for connected devices and supports audio transport over both Dante and AES67.
A typical use is the CMKit-121 kit (CM20, 2× CS10 and RCH40 E2) for a 5 × 8 m room; two kits cover a 6 × 10 m room. The same switch appears in the MVC S40 ceiling audio reference design and in the MVC S98 bundle.
⚑ atlantis note
Do not confuse with the RCH40
The older RCH40 cannot disable EEE, so it does not work with the CM20 and CS10. Always order the RCH40 E2 for ceiling audio setups.
