Yealink PA20 wireless content sharing IP BYOD
PA20
Yealink PA20 — a wireless presentation pod that plugs into a laptop and sends the picture to the room display with one press of a button. The pod encodes the picture itself, so no software and no driver are installed. It adds wireless IP BYOD on top of that.

Description
Plug in and present
The pod pairs with the room system by being plugged into its USB Type-A port, and on the MeetingBar A25, A40 and A50 video bars into the side USB-C port as well. Once the display reports a successful pairing it is unplugged and goes to the presenter, who plugs it into a laptop and shares with one press of the button on the pod. The picture is encoded by hardware inside the pod, so no software and no driver are installed and the laptop processor is left alone.
USB-C instantly, USB-A after the app starts
Plugged into the USB-C port of a computer, the pod starts sharing on its own. Plugged into a USB-A port, the Yealink application is started by hand the first time, on Windows from the drive that appears in This PC, and on macOS screen recording is allowed as well. That difference carries into the extended desktop, which works on Windows and macOS through the USB-C port, but only on Windows through the USB-A port.
Audio, annotation and IP BYOD
Audio sharing on the PA20 is enabled by default, so the entire audio output of the computer travels into the meeting. To keep the audio from looping, the system mutes the local audio when sharing starts and restores it afterwards. The pod also handles annotation, remote control and IP BYOD mode, in which the laptop takes over the camera, microphone and speakers of the room for a meeting in a third party platform.
Strengths and limits
Strengths
No software and no driver to install, the guest needs neither admin rights nor preparation
The USB-A adapter is in the box, the pod works with a laptop that has no USB-C port
Up to four content streams at once, presenters do not have to take turns
Audio sharing is enabled by default
IP BYOD mode, that is the camera, microphone and speakers of the room for a meeting in a third party platform
The pod's own wireless network with WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK security and AES encryption
Limits and what to tell the customer
The pod is not a device in its own right. It pairs with a Yealink system in the room, without one it has nowhere to send the picture.
The extended desktop on macOS works only through the USB-C port of the computer, not through the USB-A port.
On the MeetingBar A30 only content sharing remains, wireless IP BYOD is not available there.
Pairing needs the wireless access point switched on on the room system, otherwise the pod will not pair.
Some systems require a minimum firmware version, we go through it for the specific system with you.
⚑ atlantis note
PA20, or WPP30
Both pods do the same job and sit side by side in the compatibility tables. The PA20 is the newer one and in our range it is the default choice, with the WPP30 1303112 as the second option where the customer already owns units and wants to keep the estate uniform.
How many pods per room
Yealink systems hold four paired pods and one active. For a meeting room where several presenters take turns without passing a single pod around, order more units from the start. Up to four streams can be on screen.
Explain the port difference
The usual complaint is that „it did not work the first time“. Through the USB-C port sharing starts on its own, through the USB-A port the application is started by hand the first time and macOS asks for screen recording. Put that into the training and onto the label next to the pod.
Firmware and compatibility
Compatibility and minimum firmware versions are kept in a separate list that keeps moving. Tell us the model of the room system and its firmware version and we will go through it for you before you quote.
Which room
Recommended use | wireless content sharing to Yealink systems and IP BYOD mode |
|---|---|
Position in the portfolio | wireless accessory, it carries no platform certification |
Pods per system | four paired, one active, up to four streams on screen |
Good fit
A meeting room where people from outside share content too. An environment where users cannot install software. A room with a MeetingBar video bar, a MeetingBoard display or a RoomCast E2 system. Meetings that compare material from several people side by side.
Check first
Which Yealink system the pod has to work with and on what firmware version. How many pods the room should get. What ports the users' laptops have, the USB-A adapter is in the box. Whether the customer needs the extended desktop on macOS, which only works through the USB-C port.
Consider another model
The RoomCast E2 system where sharing should stand on its own at the display and guests should get Miracast and AirPlay too. The VCH51 Pro hub where the laptop should be cabled and charge at the same time. MShare E2 where sharing should be wired on an MVC system.
The „Good fit“ box follows the positioning the manufacturer gives this product, the „Check first“ and „Consider another model“ boxes come from the practice of the atlantis team.

What to check before ordering and deployment
The room system: which Yealink model the pod has to work with
Firmware: some systems require a minimum version, we go through it for you
Pairing: the system needs its wireless access point switched on
Number of units: four paired pods and one active, up to four streams on screen
Laptop ports: USB-A and USB-C, the adapter is in the box
Extended desktop: on macOS only through the USB-C port of the computer
Security: the pod's own network with WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK, go through the rules with the customer administrator
Support: the AMS extended warranty, order it together with the device
The atlantis team helps with every point. From picking the pod and checking compatibility with the room system through pairing and setup to user training and handover documentation. We go through compatibility and minimum firmware versions for the specific system for you.
Management and services
Management follows the platform: in native mode the device is managed from the administration of the platform the room runs.
Yealink Management Cloud Service (YMCS): cloud management of Yealink devices, that is bulk firmware updates, status monitoring and alerts. Support and the scope of management differ by model and licence, so check both with us for the specific device and system.
atlantis services for partners
atlantis is a direct importer and distributor, and we deliver projects through a network of specialist partners. The services below are therefore offered to the partner, not to the end customer. The partner sets the scope. On one project we take on the whole delivery, on another we cover just the part the partner currently lacks capacity or specialisation for, and on a third the partner manages alone and uses us only for a consultation.
Before the decision: a consultation on choosing the system and a comparison of the suitable options. The recommendation is built on the size and the character of the room, that is light, acoustics, shape, seating layout and furnishing, then on headcount and on how meetings are actually run there. We offer a live demonstration at our premises, which the partner can bring their customer to, and where it is warranted a test installation, that is a proof of concept.
Delivery and installation: transport, professional mounting and the work that goes with it, that is cabling, installation material, brackets and room alterations. We handle the installation in full, or support the partner's own team where needed.
Network readiness and security: we advise on preparing the network for the demands of two-way real-time video, that is throughput, latency and traffic prioritisation, and on securing the communication.
Configuration and integration: setting up the communication platform and the room account, connecting to the network, and advice on linking and integrating third-party software and hardware.
Training and documentation: training prepared to match the user's role, that is one thing for room users and another for administrators, plus preparation of both project and user documentation.
Service and support after the sale: our certified team in Czech, available to the partner throughout the equipment's life. We handle a warranty claim with the manufacturer on the partner's behalf.
Warranty
The standard warranty on Yealink products is 24 months. On top of it we offer two different things that are easy to confuse.
Extended warranty
AMS
Extends the warranty period, that is how long the customer is entitled to repair or replacement of a faulty unit. The abbreviation stands for Assurance Maintenance Services.
1 to 3 years
Service programme
PrimeCare
Changes how the service is delivered. It covers priority support with escalation during business hours, advance hardware replacement with the unit dispatched the next business day from local European service stock, warranty service aligned with the licence period, the YMCS-Room-Professional package, software updates and access to the Yealink online support centre.
2 to 5 years
Take note
Which one to pick
A customer buys one of them, not both. AMS is enough where a longer warranty is all that is needed, PrimeCare is the choice where room downtime is expensive and the customer needs fast replacement and management. For video products the cap on total warranty is five years, and AMS is bought consecutively, so it must not leave a gap at the end of the existing warranty.

no gap
Order codes. AMS for the PA20 510102001624 for one year, 510102001625 for two years and 510102001627 for three years. PrimeCare is not ordered for a presentation pod; the programme is tied to the room size class of the MVC, MeetingBar, MeetingBoard and BYOD systems.
FAQ
Does the guest have to install anything?
The Yealink PA20 needs neither software nor a driver, the picture is encoded by a chip inside the pod. Through the USB-C port of the computer sharing starts on its own. Through the USB-A port the Yealink application is started by hand the first time, and on macOS screen recording is allowed as well.
How does the pod pair with the room system?
The pod is plugged into the USB Type-A port of the Yealink system, and on the MeetingBar A25, A40 and A50 video bars into the side USB-C port as well. It is unplugged once successful pairing is reported. The system needs its wireless access point switched on.
What resolution does the pod carry?
The Yealink PA20 shares content up to 4K at 30 frames per second with hardware encoding. Up to four streams can be on screen at once and a system holds four paired pods, one of which is active.
Does the laptop audio come through?
Yes. On the Yealink PA20 audio sharing is enabled by default, so the entire audio output of the computer travels into the meeting. To keep the audio from looping, the system mutes the local audio when sharing starts and restores it afterwards.
How does the PA20 differ from the WPP30?
Both pods solve the same thing, wireless content sharing to Yealink systems, and they sit side by side in the compatibility tables. The PA20 is the newer one and it is the default choice in our range. The WPP30 1303112 makes sense where the customer already owns units and wants to keep the estate uniform.
Does the pod work with a laptop that has no USB-C port?
Yes. The Yealink PA20 has a full-featured USB Type-C connector and a USB-C to USB-A adapter in the box. Mind the extended desktop only, which works on Windows through the USB-A port but not on macOS.
