CP965-Teams (this product)

phone, 7.5 m CAT5E UTP Ethernet cable, quick start guide

a meeting room where the phone has its own line and connects to the network

We carry the Teams edition. The CP965 also exists as a SIP version, and some figures, namely Android 9.0, a ten-party conference call, 94 dB volume and support for the CPW65 wireless microphone, apply to that version. See Strengths and limits.

Key features

  • 5 inch capacitive touch screen with 720 × 1280 resolution

  • Built-in 12-microphone array with 360° pickup and a separate microphone for noise reduction

  • Voice pickup range of 20 feet, that is 6 metres

  • SIP v1 (RFC2543) and v2 (RFC3261), that is registration to a telephone system

  • Power over Ethernet to IEEE 802.3af, class 4

  • Dual band Wi-Fi 2.4 and 5 GHz, 1× USB 2.0 Type-A and 1× USB 2.0 Type-C

Description

A room telephone, not a speakerphone for a laptop

The CP965 registers to a telephone system over SIP and has its own network connection. The meeting room gets its own telephone line that can be called without a computer and without a scheduled meeting. That sets it apart from the portable CP900, CP700 and SP92 speakerphones, which have no SIP registration and work as a peripheral of a connected computer or phone.

Pickup across the table, not just the nearest seat

The phone has a built-in array of twelve microphones with 360-degree pickup plus a separate microphone that reduces noise. Voice pickup reaches 6 metres, so the phone covers an ordinary meeting table without people passing the device around. The SIP version of the CP965 also has Optimal HD audio, Yealink Noise Proof Technology and a maximum volume of 94 dB at half a metre.

One cable to the socket, control by touch

Power comes over Ethernet to IEEE 802.3af, class 4, so the room needs a single cable and the YLPOE30 power adapter is optional only. A 7.5 m Ethernet cable is in the box, which usually covers a table in the middle of the room without further cabling. All control is on the five-inch touch screen, so the user is not hunting for button combinations.

Strengths and limits

Strengths

  • Voice pickup up to 6 metres, enough for an ordinary meeting table

  • SIP v1 and v2, the room has its own line independent of any computer

  • Power over Ethernet, a single cable into the room

  • The 7.5 m Ethernet cable is in the box, the installation does not wait on cabling

Limits and what to tell the customer

  • Do not promise the customer Bluetooth. On the Teams edition Bluetooth 4.2 is marked "Pending", that is flagged as an unfinished feature.

  • The CPW65 wireless microphone belongs to the SIP version of the CP965. If the customer needs them on the Teams edition, we will confirm before ordering.

  • The YLPOE30 power adapter is not in the box, it is optional. Without a PoE socket or injector the phone will not start.

  • We will confirm the PoE class before ordering. On the Teams edition it is IEEE 802.3af class 4, on the SIP version IEEE 802.3at class 4. It affects the choice of switch.

⚑ atlantis note

CP965 against the CP900 and SP92

These are different categories of device, not a better and a worse model. The CP965 is a telephone with its own line and connects to the network. The CP900, CP700 and SP92 are portable speakerphones for a computer and have no SIP. A customer who wants to dial a number and reach the room needs the CP965. A customer who carries meetings around in a laptop needs a speakerphone.

Sort out the network before the phone

The phone is powered from Ethernet, so the room needs a PoE socket or an injector. The YLPOE30 adapter is optional and not in the box. Check the PoE class on the customer's switch as well, because for the CP965 class 4 appears once to 802.3af and once to 802.3at.

Word the certification carefully in a quotation

The Teams edition carries the Teams Certification logo. Use that wording in a quotation rather than a general claim about certification.

Good fit

A meeting room with its own telephone line, a table up to six metres, an environment where people dial a number to reach the room. Places where the device should stay on the table and not depend on who brings a laptop.

Verify

Whether the room has a PoE socket and which class the switch supports. Which telephone system or platform the phone is to serve. Whether the customer wants a wireless expansion microphone. Whether they require written proof of certification. Where exactly the phone will stand, because of the Ethernet cable length.

Consider another model

The CP900 or SP92 where the device is carried around and plugged into a laptop. The CP50 where the job is the audio unit of a room video system. The UVC34 video bar where the room needs video as well.

The "Verify" and "Consider another model" cards come from the experience of the atlantis team.

Recommended

Network connection and SIP

The phone registers over SIP v1 (RFC2543) and v2 (RFC3261) and is powered over Ethernet. The room therefore has its own line and is reachable without a computer.

What to check before ordering and deploying

  1. Power: a PoE socket at the table, the YLPOE30 adapter is optional and not in the box

  2. PoE class: class 4 once to 802.3af and once to 802.3at, we confirm it against the customer's switch

  3. Telephone system and platform: where the phone is to register and who creates the room account

  4. Table size: voice pickup reaches 6 metres, for a longer table we will check the options for extending it

  5. Expansion microphone: the CPW65 belongs to the SIP version, for the Teams edition we have support confirmed

  6. Cabling: the box holds a 7.5 m Ethernet cable, for a more distant socket plan your own cable

  7. Bluetooth: it is marked "Pending", do not put it in the customer's specification

The atlantis team will help with every point. On the CP965 most often with preparing the network and PoE power and with registering the phone into the customer's telephone system or platform.

Management and services

  • Yealink USB Connect: the manufacturer's tool for managing Yealink USB devices, that is headsets, speakerphones and webcams. It handles firmware updates, feature settings and collecting diagnostic data.

atlantis services for partners

atlantis is a direct importer and distributor, and we supply through a network of specialist partners. The services below are therefore offered to the partner, not to the end customer. The partner sets the scope, according to their own capacity and skills, from a consultation alone to taking on the whole deployment.

  • Before the decision: a consultation on the model and the order code and a comparison of the suitable variants. We base the recommendation on the user's role, because a contact centre agent, a manager on the move and a shared workstation each need a different headset. We arrange a sample to try so the customer can check comfort, audio and range before ordering for a whole team.

  • Deployment and configuration: bulk settings and management of the headsets, connection to the communication environment, and advice on linking third-party software and hardware.

  • Training and documentation: training prepared to match the user's role, plus preparation of the user documentation.

  • Service and support after the sale: our certified team in Czech, available to the partner throughout the equipment's life. We handle a warranty claim with the manufacturer on the partner's behalf.

Warranty

The standard warranty on Yealink products is 24 months.

FAQ

Is the CP965 the same thing as the CP900 speakerphone?

The Yealink CP965 is a conference phone with SIP registration, Ethernet and PoE power, that is a device with its own telephone line. The CP900, CP700 and SP92 are portable speakerphones that connect to a computer or a phone and have no SIP. A room that people dial by number needs the CP965.

How is the phone powered?

The Yealink CP965 is powered over Ethernet to IEEE 802.3af, class 4. The YLPOE30 power adapter is optional and not in the box, so the room needs a PoE socket or an injector. Watch the PoE class: it is class 4 once to 802.3af and once to 802.3at.

How far does the phone hear?

The Yealink CP965 has a built-in array of twelve microphones with 360-degree pickup and a voice pickup range of 20 feet, that is 6 metres. It also has a separate microphone which decreases noise.

Can a wireless microphone be added?

The Yealink CP965 has support for the CPW65 wireless DECT microphone on its SIP version. For the Teams edition, which is what we carry under code 1304017, we will confirm support for wireless expansion microphones before ordering.

Does the phone have Bluetooth?

The Yealink CP965 has built-in Bluetooth 4.2, but it is marked "Pending", that is flagged as an unfinished feature. Do not offer the phone where Bluetooth is a stated requirement until the status of the feature is confirmed.

What comes in the box besides the phone?

The Yealink CP965 ships with a 7.5 m CAT5E UTP Ethernet cable and a quick start guide. A power adapter, a PoE injector and an expansion microphone are not part of the delivery.
