Description

Meeting audio for the person who carries the meeting around

The CP900 and the CP700 are both portable speakerphones, that is peripherals of a computer or a phone. They belong among USB devices, not among telephones: they have no SIP registration and do not join the network. The user takes the device into a meeting room, to a shared desk or home and runs the call on whatever platform is on the computer.

Two models by the size of the table

The main difference is the microphone side. The CP900 has an array of six MEMS microphones and 2 metre pickup, while the CP700 has two omnidirectional microphones and 1.5 metre pickup. The CP900 additionally has full-duplex technology, whereas the CP700 has "Audio duplex". For four people at a small table the CP700 is enough, for a larger circle the CP900 is the right answer.

Wireless or by cable

Both devices connect to a computer with a USB 2.0 cable that is a fixed part of the device, 0.9 m on the CP900 and 0.8 m on the CP700. Wireless works over Bluetooth 4.2 directly, or through the BT50 USB dongle, which is in the box of four of the eight order codes. The wireless range is 30 metres on both models, as a single figure covering both connection paths.

Strengths and limits

Strengths

  • 12 hours of talk time on the CP900 covers a full day of meetings without charging

  • Three connection paths, USB cable, BT50 dongle or direct Bluetooth pairing

  • A carrying case is in the box of both models

  • Optima HD voice, noise suppression, DSP and acoustic echo cancellation on the CP900

Limits and what to tell the customer

  • The BT50 dongle is fixed by the order code. Four of the eight codes have no dongle in the box and it cannot be bought separately. The BT51 model does not appear in any document for the CP900 or the CP700.

  • The Teams version has a dedicated Teams button, which is not a certification. The devices meet REACH compliance.

  • The Teams branch differs from the UC branch by its dedicated Teams button. We will confirm which order code belongs to which branch before ordering.

  • The CP700 has 1.5 metre pickup and two microphones. It is not enough for a large meeting table, which calls for the CP900, the CP965 or a room system.

  • Neither model has SIP registration; for a room with its own telephone line the CP965 is the device.

⚑ atlantis note

Which code to order

Two things decide, both at order time. The model by the size of the table, that is the CP900 with 2 metre pickup or the CP700 with 1.5 metre. The BT50 dongle, which only codes 1204605, 1204611, 1204606 and 1204610 include. We recommend the dongle wherever the user moves between laptops, because direct Bluetooth pairing means pairing again each time.

Quote standby exactly

The CP900 manages 400 days of standby and the CP700 230 days, in both cases after the device enters power save following 30 minutes of inactivity. Other figures that circulate for these models do not apply, so keep them out of the quotation.

CP900 or SP92

The SP92 is a newer device of the same category. Against the CP900 it has Bluetooth 5.3, 20 hours of talk time and AI noise cancellation, and its dongle is called the BT51C. The CP900 in turn has 2 metre pickup and six microphones, while the SP92 has a single microphone. Where the number of people at the table is the main topic, offer the CP900.

USB and Bluetooth speakerphones, USB devices rather than SIP telephones

Voice pickup

CP900 up to 2 m, CP700 up to 1.5 m

How the models differ

the CP900 has six MEMS microphones, full duplex, a speaker with 7 W peak output and 12 hours of talk time; the CP700 has two omnidirectional microphones, 5 W and 9 hours of talk time

Good fit

A small meeting room with no fixed equipment, a shared device for a team, home working with calls involving several people, a user on the move who needs better audio than the laptop gives.

Verify

How many people sit at the table and how far from the device, because of the model. Whether the BT50 dongle should be in the box. Whether the customer requires proof of certification. What ports the laptops have, for both the cable and the dongle. Whether the device is meant to stay in the room permanently, which is a different category.

Consider another model

The SP92 as a newer device of the same category. The CP965 where the room has its own telephone line. The CP50 as the audio unit of a room system. The UVC34 video bar where the room needs video as well.

The "Verify" and "Consider another model" cards come from the experience of the atlantis team.

What to check before ordering and deploying

  1. Model: the CP900 with 2 metre pickup or the CP700 with 1.5 metre, by headcount and table size

  2. Dongle: the BT50 comes with only four of the eight codes and cannot be added later

  3. Branch: Teams or UC by the customer's environment, we confirm which code belongs to which branch before ordering

  4. Laptop ports: the cable is USB 2.0 and fixed to the device, with USB-C plan for an adapter

  5. Hours of use: 12 hours of talk time on the CP900 and 9 on the CP700, for all-day use plan for charging

  6. Placement: the device is portable; a room with permanent equipment calls for the CP965 or the CP50

  7. Management: firmware updates and settings through Yealink USB Connect

The atlantis team will help with every point. On the CP900 and CP700 most often with choosing the model by table size and with lending a sample so the customer can check the pickup in their own room.

Management and services

  • Yealink USB Connect: the manufacturer's tool for managing Yealink USB devices, that is headsets, speakerphones and webcams. It handles firmware updates, feature settings and collecting diagnostic data.

atlantis services for partners

atlantis is a direct importer and distributor, and we supply through a network of specialist partners. The services below are therefore offered to the partner, not to the end customer. The partner sets the scope, according to their own capacity and skills, from a consultation alone to taking on the whole deployment.

  • Before the decision: a consultation on the model and the order code and a comparison of the suitable variants. We base the recommendation on the user's role, because a contact centre agent, a manager on the move and a shared workstation each need a different headset. We arrange a sample to try so the customer can check comfort, audio and range before ordering for a whole team.

  • Deployment and configuration: bulk settings and management of the headsets, connection to the communication environment, and advice on linking third-party software and hardware.

  • Training and documentation: training prepared to match the user's role, plus preparation of the user documentation.

  • Service and support after the sale: our certified team in Czech, available to the partner throughout the equipment's life. We handle a warranty claim with the manufacturer on the partner's behalf.

Warranty

The standard warranty on Yealink products is 24 months.
