Description

Two processors, two sizes of the job

The AVHub is a conference audio and video processor for large and extra-large halls. Cameras, microphones and speakers plug into it over a network cable, draw their power from it and are managed from one place, so separate cabling and a separate power supply for every peripheral fall away. The AVBridge is a compact audio box and A/V signal extender measuring 150 × 100 × 28 mm and weighing 315 grams, which brings 4×4 Dante channels, an analogue input and output on Phoenix connectors and conversion of audio and video to USB into the room.

One cable to the host

Both models end at the host as a USB device. The AVHub has a USB-B 3.0 port and a Codec port for the host, plus two USB-A 2.0 ports and seven VCH ports for peripherals. The AVBridge converts audio and video to USB and works as an extender, so the camera or the audio can sit far from the host and still arrive over the network. That also covers BYOM working, where the user brings the meeting on their own laptop.

Where they appear in systems

The AVHub is part of the ProAV systems MVC S90-C5U-0041106799 and MVC S98-C5U-0041106797, where it gathers cameras and audio for the MCore 4 compute unit. The AVBridge works with the MeetingBar A40 from firmware 289.320.0.70 and the MeetingBar A50 from firmware 323.320.0.34 and with the MeetingBoard Pro from firmware 331.320.0.30. Both processors are among the devices managed by the CT2001303168 or CT3001303169 controller.

Strengths and limits

Strengths

  • The AVHub gathers up to nine cameras and the whole hall's audio into a single USB connection to the host

  • Peripherals connect to the AVHub over one network cable including power, so no separate power supply per unit

  • The AVHub does a divisible room, that is a hall split by a partition into two separately meeting halves

  • The AVBridge brings Dante and AES67 in a 315 gram box powered from PoE

  • The AVBridge has a matrix mixer and PEQ, so the room's audio is tuned without a large DSP processor

Limits and what to tell the customer

  • Neither of them runs the meeting. The host is always a computer or the system's compute unit; the processor only gathers image and audio.

  • The AVHub has an 80 W PoE budget for peripherals. The size of the hall is set by the sum of their power draw, not by the number of units.

  • Daisy chaining peripherals is not supported. The topology is a star and EEE must be switched off on the switch.

  • The AVBridge does not work with the MeetingBar A10, A25 and A30 or with the MeetingBoard C EDLA. With the A40, A50 and MeetingBoard Pro a minimum firmware version applies.

  • We confirm the AVBridge box contents at order time. The AVHub box holds a power adapter, a 2.5 m USB cable and a 7.5 m network cable.

⚑ atlantis note

Which processor for which job

The number of cameras and the type of audio decide. The AVHub where the hall has several cameras, several microphones and several speakers and they are to be powered and managed from one place. The AVBridge where the job is mainly Dante audio or extending the signal between camera and host in a medium or larger room.

Work out the power budget first

The AVHub has its own adapter with a 100 to 240 V input and a 48 V / 2 A output, that is 96 W, and an 80 W PoE budget for connected peripherals. One CS10 ceiling speaker draws 24 W rated, so the budget runs out before the ports do. Walk the system through with us before you quote it to the customer.

The AVBridge goes with some hosts only

The combination with video bars holds for the MeetingBar A40 from firmware 289.320.0.70 and the MeetingBar A50 from firmware 323.320.0.34, and for the MeetingBoard Pro from 331.320.0.30. With the MeetingBar A10, A25 and A30 and with the MeetingBoard C EDLA the combination does not work. Check the firmware version on site before you promise the customer a date.

Ceiling microphone count on the AVBridge

One AVBridge takes up to four CM20 ceiling microphones1303095, or the CM50 ceiling panel 1303096. Speakers alongside them can be Yealink or third party, over Dante or analogue. We confirm the number of CM50 units per AVBridge at order time.

Which room

Recommended deployment

AVHub

a large and extra-large hall, several cameras, ceiling or tabletop audio powered from the processor

AVBridge

a medium and large room, ceiling microphones over Dante, extending image or audio to the host

Divisible hall

the AVHub has a divisible room mode, where a partition splits the hall into two halves

Place in the portfolio

AV processors, that is the stage between the room's peripherals and the host computer

Good fit

A hall where one camera is not enough and the image is built from several angles. An install where cabling is to be reduced to one network cable per peripheral. A room with a ceiling microphone and a requirement for Dante or AES67. A hall divisible by a partition into two meeting halves. BYOM working from the user's laptop.

Check first

How many peripherals the system needs and at what power draw, the AVHub PoE budget is 80 W. What firmware the host runs, with the AVBridge that is a condition. How many CM50 ceiling microphones go on one AVBridge, we confirm that at order time. Whether the room has a switch with EEE off. The AVBridge box contents, we confirm those at order time.

Consider another model

The AP08 DSP processor 1303097 where 16×16 Dante channels, eight AEC channels and power for three audio devices are needed. The AV ONE range with the EN300 and DE300 where image is to travel between rooms over the IP network. A video bar with built-in audio where one device is enough for the room.

The „Good fit“ box follows the manufacturer's positioning of these models, the „Check first“ and „Consider another model“ boxes come from the atlantis team's practice.

  3. Peripheral count: the AVHub takes up to 9 cameras, 8 microphone arrays, 4 ceiling units and 4 sound bars

  4. Power budget: the AVHub gives peripherals 80 W, one CS10 draws 24 W rated

  5. Topology: a star with no daisy chain, EEE switched off on the switch

  6. Host firmware: the AVBridge with the A40 from 289.320.0.70, with the A50 from 323.320.0.34, with the MeetingBoard Pro from 331.320.0.30

  7. Cabling: Cat5e or better on the AVBridge, shielded cable recommended, we confirm the box contents at order time

  8. Support: the AMS extended warranty, order it with the device

The atlantis team helps with every point. From system design and the power budget through wiring and configuration to user training and handover of the documentation. On the AVBridge we also confirm the box contents at order time, so you do not promise the customer items that are not in it.

Management and services

  • Management follows the platform: in native mode the device is managed from the administration of the platform the room runs.

  • Yealink Management Cloud Service (YMCS): cloud management of Yealink devices, that is bulk firmware updates, status monitoring and alerts. Support and the scope of management differ by model and licence, so check both with us for the specific device and system.

atlantis services for partners

atlantis is a direct importer and distributor, and we deliver projects through a network of specialist partners. The services below are therefore offered to the partner, not to the end customer. The partner sets the scope. On one project we take on the whole delivery, on another we cover just the part the partner currently lacks capacity or specialisation for, and on a third the partner manages alone and uses us only for a consultation.

  • Before the decision: a consultation on choosing the system and a comparison of the suitable options. The recommendation is built on the size and the character of the room, that is light, acoustics, shape, seating layout and furnishing, then on headcount and on how meetings are actually run there. We offer a live demonstration at our premises, which the partner can bring their customer to, and where it is warranted a test installation, that is a proof of concept.

  • Delivery and installation: transport, professional mounting and the work that goes with it, that is cabling, installation material, brackets and room alterations. We handle the installation in full, or support the partner's own team where needed.

  • Network readiness and security: we advise on preparing the network for the demands of two-way real-time video, that is throughput, latency and traffic prioritisation, and on securing the communication.

  • Configuration and integration: setting up the communication platform and the room account, connecting to the network, and advice on linking and integrating third-party software and hardware.

  • Training and documentation: training prepared to match the user's role, that is one thing for room users and another for administrators, plus preparation of both project and user documentation.

  • Service and support after the sale: our certified team in Czech, available to the partner throughout the equipment's life. We handle a warranty claim with the manufacturer on the partner's behalf.

Warranty

The standard warranty on Yealink products is 24 months. On top of it we offer two different things that are easy to confuse.

Extended warranty

AMS

Extends the warranty period, that is how long the customer is entitled to repair or replacement of a faulty unit. The abbreviation stands for Assurance Maintenance Services.

1 to 3 years

Service programme

PrimeCare

Changes how the service is delivered. It covers priority support with escalation during business hours, advance hardware replacement with the unit dispatched the next business day from local European service stock, warranty service aligned with the licence period, the YMCS-Room-Professional package, software updates and access to the Yealink online support centre.

2 to 5 years

Take note

Which one to pick

A customer buys one of them, not both. AMS is enough where a longer warranty is all that is needed, PrimeCare is the choice where room downtime is expensive and the customer needs fast replacement and management. For video products the cap on total warranty is five years, and AMS is bought consecutively, so it must not leave a gap at the end of the existing warranty.
