Description

A conference phone, not a speakerphone for a laptop

Poly Trio C60 is a standalone telephone device. It registers with the customer's telephone system or voice platform, has its own number and its own display, so neither the call nor the meeting is run by a user's laptop. That is the fundamental difference from the Poly Sync range, which is always only the audio device of a connected computer. For the customer it means the phone in the room works on its own, regardless of who walks in and with what.

Audio for the whole meeting table

Three microphones pick up voices at a range of up to 6.1 metres, which covers a standard meeting room. Audio is processed by Poly Acoustic Clarity, which provides full duplex conversation, acoustic echo cancellation and background noise suppression. For a longer table or a larger room, expansion microphones 85X02AA can be added, or up to four systems daisy-chained.

One cable into the room

The phone is powered over PoE, so a single network cable into the room is enough and there is no power outlet to arrange at the table. Over the USB port, Trio C60 can also serve as the audio device of a connected computer, so the room handles a meeting in whatever application a guest has on their laptop. The details of power and ports are in Network, power and security.

Strengths and limits

Strengths

  • A standalone device with its own number, independent of any user's laptop

  • One network cable into the room, powered over PoE

  • Security features for corporate and public sector networks: 802.1X, SRTP, TLS and a FIPS 140-2 module

  • Expandable microphones and daisy-chaining of up to four systems

Limits worth telling the customer

  • The order code determines the platform the device ships and is certified for. 849B4AA#ABB is Open SIP, 849B6AA#ABB is Microsoft Teams. Confirm any later change of base profile for the specific code and firmware.

  • This is not a video conferencing device. Trio C60 has no camera and no display for video, it handles audio and control only.

  • The standard manufacturer warranty on this model is one year, unlike the two years on the Sync range.

  • No power supply is included. Without PoE in the network the 85X03AA#ABB injector is required.

⚑ atlantis note

Platform

Code 849B4AA#ABB is the Open SIP version, code 849B6AA#ABB is the Microsoft Teams version. Verify the customer's platform before ordering, changing it after delivery is not a configuration step.

Region

The #ABB suffix is the European variant. Ordering #ABA is the most common mistake with HP products and the two are not interchangeable.

Radios

Both of our SKUs are the Full Radio variant, that is with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled. HP also offers a No Radio variant for environments where wireless interfaces are prohibited. For public sector and banking customers it is worth asking in advance.

Power

The box contains a network cable, not a power supply. If the room has no PoE to 802.3at, order the 85X03AA#ABB injector.

Room fit

Recommended room parameters

Microphone pickup range

up to 6.1 m

Extending to a larger room

expansion microphones 85X02AA, daisy-chaining of up to four systems

Power

PoE 802.3at class 4, or the 85X03AA#ABB injector

Typical deployment

meeting and boardroom with a telephone system, a meeting room without video conferencing, environments with security requirements

Good fit

A meeting room where the phone has its own number and is part of the telephone system, a customer with their own PBX or voice platform, an environment with 802.1X and encryption requirements.

Check the design

A table longer than the 6.1 m pickup range (expansion microphones or daisy-chaining solve this), a network without PoE, the customer's rules on wireless interfaces, a planned voice platform migration. We are happy to review it.

Consider another model

If the customer does not need a dedicated number and meetings run from a laptop, Poly Sync 60 is cheaper. If video is needed as well, the room needs a video bar such as Poly Studio X52.

Platforms and modes of use

Recommended for a permanent room

Registered with a voice platform

The phone has its own number and works on its own. The order code determines the platform the device ships and is certified for, Open SIP or Microsoft Teams.

Open SIP

Microsoft Teams

For guests and other applications

Audio device for a laptop

Over the USB Micro-B port Trio C60 acts as the microphone and speaker of a connected computer, so it also serves a meeting in someone else's application.

For phones

Wireless pairing

A phone or tablet can be connected to the device over Bluetooth.

Bluetooth

The choice between Open SIP and Microsoft Teams is set by the order code, not by configuration. Always confirm before ordering which voice platform the phone is to register with.

Network, power and security

The parameters the customer's IT and security teams ask about most often when approving a deployment. The figures match the HP technical specification for order code 849B4AA.

What to check before ordering and installing

  1. Platform and telephone system: Open SIP or Microsoft Teams by order code, supported SIP features, number of lines, provisioning and the device account

  2. Power: PoE to 802.3at class 4 on the port the phone will use, otherwise the 85X03AA#ABB injector

  3. Network: voice VLAN, QoS, DHCP and NTP, firewall and proxy, certificates for 802.1X

  4. Wireless interfaces: the customer's rules on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and for prohibited radios discuss the No Radio variant with HP

  5. Room and cabling: table length against the 6.1 m pickup range, expansion microphones or daisy-chaining if needed, table outlet and cable length

  6. Management and operation: registration in Poly Lens and a firmware update before handover, user training and an acceptance test with a real call

The atlantis team will help with every point. From validating the design and the telephone system settings through pre-configuration to installation, network integration and on-site training.

Management and services

  • Poly Lens: remote inventory, monitoring, diagnostics and bulk software updates

  • Poly+ Partner (P86240160 for one year, P86240362 for three years): local support in Czech or English from an experienced certified team, by phone, chat, web and video call, expedited device replacement with the manufacturer shipping the replacement part on the next business day and paying the freight, all under the programme terms and for its whole term, so care can continue after the manufacturer warranty ends

  • atlantis installation and configuration: delivery to site, mounting, individual configuration for the customer and the specific room, registration with the voice platform, network integration, interfacing with third-party components, user training, handover documentation and further services on request

Warranty

Standard one-year limited HP Poly warranty. Extended support with expedited device replacement is provided by the Poly+ Partner programme.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between 849B4AA#ABB and 849B6AA#ABB?

Poly Trio C60 is the same device in both cases, the difference is the voice platform. Code 849B4AA#ABB is the Open SIP version, code 849B6AA#ABB is the Microsoft Teams version. Order the variant the customer will actually run. The manufacturer's administrator guide does describe changing the phone's base profile, but we recommend confirming it for the specific code and firmware first: it may depend on licensing and it changes the certified state.

Does Poly Trio C60 need a power supply?

Not if the room has PoE to IEEE 802.3at, class 4. The box contains a network cable, not a power supply. For networks without PoE the 85X03AA#ABB injector is ordered separately.

How does it differ from Poly Sync 60?

Poly Trio C60 is a conference IP phone with its own number, registered with a telephone system. Poly Sync 60 is the audio device of a connected laptop and has no number of its own. Trio suits rooms that should work as a telephone in their own right.

Does Poly Trio C60 have a camera?

No. Poly Trio C60 is a conference phone and handles audio and control, not video. For video conferencing in the same room a video bar such as Poly Studio X52 is required.

What does Full Radio mean in the product name?

Full Radio means the device has its wireless interfaces enabled, that is Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Both of our ordering variants are Full Radio. The manufacturer also offers a No Radio variant for environments where wireless interfaces are prohibited.
