What it is for
A mounting kit decides how the device sits in the room and how it looks. Improvised placement on a shelf or a TV stand means a poor camera framing, a cable across the desk and a device that shifts every time the room is cleaned.
Order it with the device, not after installation. Ordering a bracket afterwards means a second engineer visit, which costs more than the kit itself.
