What it is for

A power supply is the item most often forgotten in a project budget. On a device that does not ship with a supply or expects PoE, its absence means a room that does not work on installation day.

The adapter supplies PoE++ at 65 W, far more than ordinary PoE. If the room has no switch of that class, the adapter is required rather than optional. Verify that before ordering the device.
