What it is for

Poly speakerphones and headsets normally connect to a computer by cable. The BT700 Bluetooth adapter lets them connect wirelessly, including on computers where corporate policy blocks pairing over the built-in Bluetooth. The adapter behaves as a separate audio device and is tied to supported Poly devices, it is not a universal Bluetooth adapter for arbitrary hardware.

In practice it sells in two situations. Either the customer bought a speakerphone variant without the adapter and added wireless computer connection later, or they need a spare because the adapter was lost.

The cheaper route

With the Sync range it is usually better value to order the plus variant, which includes the adapter, than to add it separately. With Sync 20 we always recommend this.

Successor to BT600

BT700 replaces the older BT600 adapters (85Q81AA and 85Q85AA), which the manufacturer discontinued as of 31 August 2026.

Connector

This variant has a USB-A connector. For a computer without a USB-A port, order the USB-C version, code 786C5AA.

Frequently asked questions

Does BT700 work with any Bluetooth device?

No. Poly BT700 is tied to supported Poly devices, that is the Voyager, Sync 40 and Sync 60 ranges. It is not a universal Bluetooth adapter.

Is BT700 included with a speakerphone?

With the plus variants yes, for example Poly Sync 20+ and Sync 40+. With the non-plus variants it is ordered separately.

How does it differ from BT600?

BT700 is the newer adapter and BT600 (85Q81AA, 85Q85AA) is discontinued as of 31 August 2026. Use BT700 for new orders.
