The model number reads easily. The second digit gives the configuration, 1 is monaural and 2 is stereo. A trailing five, that is 3215 and 3225, adds a 3.5 mm plug for a mobile or tablet and a travel case in the box. Codes ending in A6 are bulk packaging.

Description

A corded headset for volume deployment

The Blackwire 3200 is a classic corded headset for a computer. There is nothing to charge, nothing to pair and nothing to lose, which is decisive when hundreds of units are deployed. Plug it into USB and it works. That is exactly why it holds its ground where wireless headsets create more work than benefit, that is in contact centres, in education and at shift workplaces with hot desks.

How it differs from the 3300 range

Both ranges are corded USB headsets at a similar price. The 3200 has a metal headband and leatherette ear cushions that fold flat, so it stores and travels better. The 3300 has a plushly padded headband and softer cushions instead, that is comfort at the expense of compactness. If the customer moves headsets between desks or stores them in a drawer, reach for the 3200.

The successor is called Mission

Blackwire is the previous generation of Poly corded headsets, the successor is the Mission range. We continue to carry the Blackwire 3200 because it is deployed in large numbers and customers buy the same ear cushions for it. For new deployments we recommend the Mission 400, which has the same purpose and is current.

Limits and what to tell the customer

This code has no 3.5 mm plug. It will not connect to a mobile or a tablet without USB, that is what the 3215 and 3225 are for.
A travel case is not in the box on the 3210 and 3220, only the 3215 and 3225 have one.
It is the previous generation. New deployments belong to the Mission 400 range.
This code has Works With Chromebook certification. It lists neither Microsoft Teams nor Zoom certification for it.

The trailing five buys the plug and the case

The difference between the 3220 and the 3225 is not in the audio, the driver and the microphone are the same. The 3225 adds a 3.5 mm plug and a travel case and a longer cable, 227 cm against 161 cm. If the user carries the headset with a laptop and also uses it with a mobile, the premium for the five pays off. For a fixed desk in an office it is redundant.

Bulk packaging makes sense from tens of units

Codes ending in A6 are bulk. The contents are the same, only the packaging differs, being leaner and without a retail box. In volume deployment it saves space, unpacking time and waste. Codes ending in AA belong to single sales over the counter.

Verify certifications, the price list does not describe them

The 3200 order codes have only Works With Chromebook certification. If the customer requires Teams certification contractually, offer the Mission 400 instead, where the certification applies to the order code itself.

Can I connect the headset to a mobile?

Not with this code, the 3220 has USB only. For a mobile or a tablet without a USB port the model is the 3215 in the monaural configuration or the 3225 in stereo, both of which add a 3.5 mm plug.

What does a code ending in A6 mean?

It is bulk packaging. The contents are the same as in a code ending in AA, only the leaner packaging without a retail box differs. It pays off from tens of units and saves space and waste.

How does the 3200 range differ from the 3300?
