Poly Trio conference phones are powered over PoE, so a single network cable into the room is enough. If the switch in that part of the network does not support PoE, or its power budget is already used up, the phone will not start. The injector adds power to the existing cabling with no change to the switch.

Order it wherever PoE to IEEE 802.3at, class 4 is not confirmed on the port the phone will use. It pays to check this during design, not on site.

When to order it

The injector is not in the phone box. Verify PoE availability during design rather than at installation, otherwise the go-live slips by the injector's lead time.

Standard

The power supply is PoE to IEEE 802.3at, class 4 for the Poly Trio C60. The switch or injector has to actually provide that standard on the port in question, a network socket alone is not enough.
