Description

The same sound in two models

The Jabra Speak2 40 and Speak2 55 share their audio design and housing. Both have four Digital MEMS beamforming microphones, voice pickup up to 2.3 metres, a 50 mm speaker, full duplex and the Voice Level Normalization function. Both are intended for rooms up to 4.5 × 4.5 m, measure 120 × 33 mm and are rated IP64. The housing is made of more than 50 % sustainable materials. The only difference is connection and power.

The Speak2 40 for a fixed place at the computer

The Speak2 40 connects only through its integrated USB cable, which has both a USB-C and a USB-A connector, and it is powered over USB. It has neither Bluetooth nor a battery. It suits places where the speakerphone stays with a laptop or a computer in a small meeting room or on a desk. The cable is about 80 cm long, so the speakerphone sits close to the computer.

The Speak2 55 also without a cable and with a mobile

The Speak2 55 adds Bluetooth 5.1 with a range of up to 30 m, remembers up to eight paired devices and can keep two of them connected at the same time. The Li-ion battery gives up to 12 hours of talk time and charging takes 2.5 hours at 1 A or 5 hours at 0.5 A. The Microsoft Teams certification of the Speak2 55 applies to the USB connection only and there is no Bluetooth adapter in the box.

Strengths and limits

Strengths

  • Both models have the same microphones and speaker, the choice is only about connection

  • Integrated cable with both USB-C and USB-A connectors, no adapter needed

  • IP64 rating and a carry pouch in the box

  • The Speak2 55 connects a laptop and a phone at the same time

Limits and what to tell the customer

  • The Speak2 40 has neither Bluetooth nor a battery. For a phone or cable-free use offer the Speak2 55.

  • The cable is about 80 cm long, so the speakerphone has to sit at the computer.

  • The Teams certification of the Speak2 55 applies over USB only, not over Bluetooth.

  • Voice pickup is up to 2.3 m and the room up to 4.5 × 4.5 m. A larger space calls for a meeting room system.

⚑ atlantis note

How to read the code

The first four digits give the model, 2740 is the Speak2 40 and 2755 is the Speak2 55. The suffix -109 means the Microsoft Teams version, the suffix -209 the UC version. The colour is the same on all codes, dark grey.

Do not mix up the Speak2 40 and Speak2 55

At first sight they are the same speakerphone. The Speak2 40 is wired only, however, with no Bluetooth and no battery. When the customer expects to use a mobile phone or to work away from the computer, order the Speak2 55.

No Bluetooth adapter in the box

The Speak2 55 connects to a computer through its integrated USB cable, and there is no Jabra Link Bluetooth adapter in the box. If the customer wants one for a wireless connection to the computer, we will confirm a suitable code with your order. The Microsoft Teams certification, however, applies to the USB connection only.

The atlantis team will help with every point. With this pair the usual question is whether the customer is fine with the wired Speak2 40 or needs the Bluetooth and battery of the Speak2 55. A loan unit from us shows the difference fastest.

Management and services

  • Jabra Direct: the manufacturer's free application for Windows and macOS. It updates firmware, adjusts device settings such as sidetone or hearing protection, and handles call control in softphones.

  • Jabra Plus: cloud management of Jabra devices for IT, that is scheduled bulk firmware updates, configuration, status monitoring and inventory. Support and the scope of management differ by model, so check both with us for the specific device and deployment.

atlantis services for partners

atlantis is a direct importer and distributor, and we supply through a network of specialist partners. The services below are therefore offered to the partner, not to the end customer. The partner sets the scope, according to their own capacity and skills, from a consultation alone to taking on the whole deployment.

  • Before the decision: a consultation on the model and the order code and a comparison of the suitable variants. We base the recommendation on the user's role, because a contact centre agent, a manager on the move and a shared workstation each need a different headset. We arrange a sample to try so the customer can check comfort, audio and range before ordering for a whole team.

  • Deployment and configuration: bulk settings and management of the headsets, connection to the communication environment, and advice on linking third-party software and hardware.

  • Training and documentation: training prepared to match the user's role, plus preparation of the user documentation.

  • Service and support after the sale: our certified team in Czech, available to the partner throughout the equipment's life. We handle a warranty claim with the manufacturer on the partner's behalf.

Warranty

The standard Jabra warranty on this product is 2 years from the date of purchase.

Included

Take note

Wear parts

The warranty does not cover cables, ear cushions, head and neck bands, pouches, stands, power adapters and removable batteries. A part that stops working within 14 days of purchase is treated as faulty at purchase.
