Overview

When the video bar cannot cover the room acoustically

A video bar picks up voices only out to a limited distance. As soon as the table is longer or the room deeper, participants at the far end sound weak and distant. The Poly Studio A2 Audio Bridge solves this without replacing the whole system: the bridge connects to the video bar and Poly Studio A2 microphones are added to the table.

One cable to the video bar

The bridge connects to the device with a standard Ethernet cable, and a 3.66 metre CAT 6A cable is included. That removes the structured audio cabling such an installation would otherwise need. On the microphone side the bridge has four A2B bus ports, and the microphones can also be daisy-chained.

How many microphones per device

The number of microphones that can be connected depends on the device. The Poly Studio G62 supports up to eight, the Studio X72, V72, X52 and V52 video bars up to four, the Studio X32 two and the Studio V12 one. Always check the exact figure against the model the customer has.

Power

Power over PoE+ or PoE++ to IEEE 802.3at or 802.3bt class 4, 5, 6 and 8, and also mains power at 100 to 240 V. It does not, however, list a power adapter among the box contents, so plan for PoE in the design, or get in touch and we will confirm power.

Limits and what to tell the customer

Microphones are not included. Poly Studio A2 table microphones are ordered separately.
The microphone count is capped per device. With the Studio V12 it is a single microphone, with the Studio X32 two.
We will confirm with your order whether a power adapter is in the box. Plan for PoE+ or PoE++.
Compatibility is tied to the listed Poly models, do not assume it for other devices. The standard manufacturer warranty is one year.

When to quote this

Whenever the table is longer than the video bar's pickup range. That is 6.09 m for the Studio X52 and V52, 7.6 m for the X72 and V72, 4.5 m for the X32 and 4.57 m for the V12. If the customer says "they can't hear us at the back of the table", Studio A2 is the right answer, not a new video bar.

Microphone counts

Check against the model: G62 up to 8, X72 and V72 up to 4, X52 and V52 up to 4, X32 up to 2, V12 only 1. Ordering more microphones than the device supports is the most common mistake in this group.

Cable lengths

The box contains a 3.66 m CAT 6A cable and an 8 m microphone extension cable. HP's technical specification also lists a cable length of 6 m. For a specific run, have the lengths confirmed, we are happy to work them out from the floor plan.

Colour

The bridge comes in black. The Poly Studio A2 table microphones come in black and white, so choose white microphones for the white Studio V video bars.

Which devices does the bridge work with?

Compatible devices are the Poly Studio G62, Studio X72 and V72, Studio X52 and V52 and Studio X32. Do not assume compatibility with other devices.

How many microphones can I connect?

It depends on the device: up to eight with the Studio G62, up to four with the X72, V72, X52 and V52, two with the X32 and one with the Studio V12.
